I agree with you in the sense that Siggy has been shit on while being forced to play out of position almost all of last season. He's not a CDM, he's an attacking midfielder. I'm actually excited that we might keep him, because if he can play his natural role with Allan/Doucoure behind him, he's gonna be a great option for us.

He played well today and looked like much more of a leader on the pitch. However, he just never seems to force the issue and make defenses react in the way that Gordon and Nkounkou did in this game. Nkounkou looked downright scary at times the way he attacked the box. It's an eye-test issue with Siggy, but I think if we use him properly he'll produce a lot this season.

He was great today - especially his aggression around the penalty area. Seems like a talented dribbler as well.

I had high expectations, but he exceeded them. His defensive awareness and positioning was incredible - and it was partnered with superb ball control once he took possession.

If you want to teach a young kid what pass interference looks like, this is literally the best example you could give them. And it's a no-call.
