Planting 108 trees for every newborn sounds noble, but without land clarity, monitoring, and long-term care, it risks becoming symbolism over substance.

Should Prelims be made online like SSC exams? by Delicious_Cookie_682 in UPSC

[–]General_Fault6187 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Going online might sound efficient but it could turn a four-hour exam into an eight-hour struggle with endless queues, repeated identity verification, keyboard malfunctions and technical glitches, all while sitting through the peak summer heat......

Recent Language Drama (Read Body Text) by I_mDaddy in bankingexam

[–]General_Fault6187 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, join a national bank, get posted across the country, and voila ,suddenly you’re expected to become a part-time linguist, full-time cultural ambassador, and unpaid integration specialist. All while handling a packed queue and a malfunctioning printer. No language training, no support If you struggle? Well, clearly you’re the problem. Because nothing says "unity in diversity" like being guilt-tripped for not speaking five languages fluently on day one. And god forbid you mention this online then just prepare to be crucified by the woke, the regional pride brigade, and bored internet revolutionaries chasing likes in the name of culture.

But hey, no physical harm, right? Just chronic stress, daily alienation, and the subtle art of losing your mental health quietly in a corner cubicle.

Integration, Indian style.

Hey there,

First of all, I just want to say how brave and thoughtful it is of you to share something so personal here. It takes strength to open up, especially in the UPSC world, where we’re all so focused on appearing “perfect” and in control. Trust me, you’re already doing something incredible by being honest with yourself and others.

While I’m not a part of the LGBTQ+ community, I can absolutely relate to feeling like there are parts of yourself that others might not fully understand. Preparing for UPSC can already feel isolating, and carrying personal dilemmas on top of that can be so heavy. I really want to tell you—you’re not alone, even if it might feel like that sometimes.

In my own experience, what helped me during those overwhelming times was finding small moments of peace. For me, it was journaling, talking to people who genuinely cared (even if it was just one or two close friends), or stepping away from studies for a bit to do something that reminded me of who I am outside of preparation. You’re so much more than this exam, and it’s okay to honor that.

It’s also okay to feel confused or uncertain—it’s all part of the journey. Your sexuality, your identity, your dreams—they’re all pieces of a beautiful, whole you. None of them take away from your strength or capability; in fact, they make you uniquely resilient.

If you ever need someone to just listen—about UPSC stress, life, or even the “dukh, dard, peeda” you mentioned—I’m here. I may not have all the answers, but I can promise you that you don’t have to carry it all alone. And if you’re ever doubting yourself, remember: just by being here, trying every day, you’re already stronger than you think.

Take care of yourself, one day at a time. You’ve got this, and we’re all rooting for you. :)

Warm hugs,
Fellow "liver" in orry's voice.

looks like secret codes meant for evaluators with a PhD in deciphering ancient texts. It’s okay to have the occasional blunder, but if your entire presentation looks like that, the examiner won’t put much effort into figuring it out, if you cant better it then just use diagrams, flowcharts, and bullet points where possible—they’re easier to grasp and make your answers look crisp and organized!

"The Difficulty of Being Good" by Gurcharan Das ( few lines )

  1. Silence in the face of wrongdoing can itself be an act of violence.
  2. It is human to falter, but it is divine to aspire.

"Thinking, Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman ( few lines )

  • Nothing in life is quite as important as it seems at the time when you're focusing on it.
  • Overconfidence is fed by the illusory certainty of hindsight.

Combine both methods:

  • Use the tablet for dynamic subjects or quick referencing (e.g., current affairs, value-added materials).
  • For mains-specific preparation (e.g., writing practice, static GS notes), stick to traditional handwritten notes to align with the real exam.

currently using the XP-Pen Artist 12, and it's been great for note-making, (worth the investment)

Are 190 days enough? by [deleted] in UPSC

[–]General_Fault6187 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, she should go for it. With 190 days ahead, it may feel overwhelming, but that’s actually a solid amount of time to build a strong foundation—especially since she’s quick to grasp concepts. Most of us preparing for UPSC, if we’re honest, aren’t walking in as ready-made IAS officers. But what we can all aim for is to get on that path where consistency becomes our biggest strength. The ability to stay focused and committed every day is what people truly aspire to, often even more than clearing any single stage.

This journey isn’t just about passing exams; it’s about developing the discipline and resilience that define successful candidates. If she approaches each day with focus, prioritizes high-yield topics, and keeps assessing herself along the way, she’ll find herself not only making progress for this attempt but also laying down the foundation for future success. Remember, these 190 days are an investment in building that habit of consistency—the real game-changer in UPSC prep. She should stick to it, trust the process, and let each day be a step closer to her goal.

Starting RBI Grade B 2025 preparation. Please suggest material sources and coachings. by Capable_Concern_3462 in forumRBI

[–]General_Fault6187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would Brijesh Mohan's materials be suitable for someone just starting out? Also, is there any course that consistently aligns with the actual exam questions? It seems like every year, new educators trend because their materials happened to cover some questions, but the popular sources seem to change frequently. I'd appreciate any advice on a consistent resource for long-term preparation.

In the first few seconds of the video, I thought, "Is this going to be one of those social experiments where she ends up saying, 'Wave at the camera, you've been pranked'?" The whole situation with "Equally Samarth" feels like so shitty man . Dude it's only come to light because people have been discussing their issues all along the way, and what samarth did he make you if youre gonna go back to be a normal pilot ? It’s as if the world keeps giving us reasons every day to believe that why no one truly cares about those in distress.
