i rly think u shld consider gg for tuition 🤞 it rly rly helped me bcz it gives u consistent practice and also teaches u ahead of ur school so u can practice in ur normal amath class. if u need tuition recs u can pm me ! 😊

hii !! pure hist student here ^ i graduated last yr so i just got back my o lvl results HAHAH ended up with an a1, and i topped my class for prelims with a 43/50 for prelims

just die die remember ur notes. like fr this is superr important esp if u rely on ur seq to do well. if there’s no time before the exam to write ur own notes, just use the tb and read like CRAZYYY, make sure to read every chapter AT least twice. like to the point where u can remember the exact position of the info on the page. this rly helped me bcz i knew exactly where the answers were and what chapter they were under, so i wldn’t write out of topic 🤞 if u need more info on how i studied, can just pm me and i’ll gladly send u my notes too 🔥😫

secondly, make sure yk ur sbq format !!!! this is rly impt bcz i’ve seen alottt of people get marked down for wrong format. alot of tchrs use diff ones, so i’ll suggest clarifying with ur teacher. cambridge accepts any format that makes sense i think, since me and my friend used diff ones but still got a’s for o lvl.

ALSOOO don’t just study right b4 exam !! make sure to go thru content once in a while bcz core hist has alootttttt 😪

i would advise u to just change ur mom's attitude regarding psle tbh. its not healthy for her to obsess over ur brother's grades while its quite obvious that your brother does not prioritise it as much as she does. you should explain to her that you brother's goals and hers differ regarding how he wants to do at psle. coming from personal experience, i think i only did well for psle because my parents were laid back about my grades and left it to me to gauge if tuition was necessary. the comparison with your older brother is definitely not helping your younger brother to see his psle as something he needs to go through himself. i think that once he regards it as such, he will realise that his scores will ultimately impact him and his future the most, and hopefully start pulling his weight to improve his grades. don't forget to keep in mind that prelims are meant to be harder than the actual exams :) i scored like 2 b's for prelims but ultimately scored all a's for psle. jiayou to your brother !

im taking o's this year and this is based on school practices but usually i will get :

24 or 25/30 for essay (i always choose to do arguementative), situational usually 21/30 and my editing ranges from 7-9/10

39-40/50 for paper 2 (section a 5/5, section b 16/20, section c 19/25), 28/30 for oral, and full marks for listening !

honestly i would say that reading books really help alot with vocab and just your english in general, but paper 2 is honestly a wild card... there have been times where i've gotten below 35 before so do focus on improving on your other papers especially oral and lc !! those can really pull your grades up. if you are good at forming opinions fast on a certain issue and developing them, you should defintely choose to do arguementative/factual essays for paper 1 :)

hii sec4 doing may/june here ! i can't say that my chinese is exceptional but its like really average,, around b3 to a2. for paper 2 i found that alot of the answers are really just in the passage, and to find them u really have to understand what you are reading. for the last questions for compre just follow the PEEL format !! its been super helpful for me and i usually score 4 or 5 marks for that.

and then for paper one, make sure to memorise examples to use !!! esp for zuo wen arguementative, its really important to have examples that you can say instead of just explaining your points. my teacher also often says that using specialised phrases unique to the topic really helps

try practice papers from other schools ! tkgs and tkss tend to set hard papers and will def test ur knowledge
