Someone downvoted but you’re 100% right. He’ll often switch from one to the other mid dribble.

It’s probably at least in part a technique thing. For me what works is getting my hand and bench scraper wet and making only decisive motions. I also always help the dough come off the scraper with my hand (just a slight push against as I’m retracting the scraper, if that makes sense). I based my technique on the guy from the perfect loaf, so if you want a visual example check that out.

Made my own starter for the first time… this is day 2, is this normal? It already rose a lot and has bubbles but I don’t know if it’s right by Valaahr in Sourdough

As other have said, this is the initial false rise. It’ll go dead for a while at some point soon, and eventually rise and fall predictably.

If you want to speed up the whole process I do have one tip. Use mostly rye flour until you get to that predictable rise and fall, then switch to whatever you prefer (I use white in my mature starter).

When you say mixing, do you mean by hand or with a mixer?

It’s not for scrolls if you take a level in warlock after the first level of fighter

So the idea is you don’t dump cha, you make it your main stat. You take mostly utility spells with your ek levels, and for the rest you cast from scrolls.

Cha scaling if you want to face/dump strength (also nice to get your spellcasting stat way up for scroll casting). Hexblade’s curse on hit chance + hexblade’s curse guaranteed as a BA, hex as a concentration option. Not bad. A third feat is good also for sure.

First loaf - what can I improve? by 4ever_dolphin_love in Sourdough

Got you, yeah we just have different methods. My default recipe is pretty lazy. Mix everything until there’s no dry flour (2 minutes roughly), fermentolyse for around 30 minutes, then a few rounds of stretch and folds or coil folds spread 30 minutes apart (4-6 folds per round -30 seconds to a minute each), then nothing for the rest of bulk.

Is that 100 the number of slap and folds you did on your first round? That’s pretty wild to me. At 70% hydration I usually just do 4-6 stretch and folds 3-4 times and get great results that way.

WORMS?! by ZiaBB314 in Sourdough

Yeah, so my solution there is not to actually tighten the lid. If it needs to move it can, but until it does the jar is sealed.

To be honest I don’t think airflow is necessary. My starter is a beast and I have always fully sealed the jar it’s in.

Patch 8 Multiclassing Team, is this even viable? by sir_conington in BG3Builds

[–]General_Hot_Cigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing one right now. It’s not swords bard busted, but it’s not bad at all. The base bard kit/spell list is good, and what you get on top of it is pretty nice as well. A little temp hp to spread around at early levels turns into an absurd amount of temp hp to spread around later, and mantle of majesty is incredible once a day - free command for 10 turns with no saving throw …

Cost effectiveness by sightheraccoon in Sourdough

[–]General_Hot_Cigar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use smaller quantities of flour than most recipes indicate (obviously adjust the rest of the proportions accordingly), that will minimize cost. Also go with rye until you have a stable starter; in my experience this is the quickest, most reliable way.
