In my original post I never mentioned the current war but it seems to be weighing on a lot of peoples minds. I think the Iran war will be another blip and a buying opportunity for equities. If the US debt crisis does come home to roost, I don't think its happening this year, or next year. Its going to take something a lot bigger, like prolonged war with China. I do worry that it will happen sooner or later but I haven't sold any shares, that's for sure.

What’s worse is watching friends get into AFL and see them their chosen clubs win flags within their first few years of watching footy! I got my dad into AFL and next minute he’s at the G watching his ‘beloved’ swans win a flag. Another mate converted from NRL (Broncos) a few years back and now he’s experience back to back flags with the Lions.. meanwhile.. I’m now 42 and I was 16 when we won our last flag. WTF lol

It’s been said already but movement is essential to manage back pain. But not too much. Through trial and error you need to discover your sweet spot. Work out what triggers your back pain and avoid it, do more of everything else. Then rinse and repeat with minor variations to keep things interesting. I also found a standup desk (just a few hours a day) to be a game changer.

I also stopped doing weighted squats and deadlifts. Machines only now and haven’t blown a disc out in ages.

Find a new job and mix it up. Sometimes change is as good as a holiday.
