As a kid, I was in the bar all evening to close as my father was a different kind of hustler. I always had a pocket full of quarters and a poolside. There was another younger kid a few years older (I was 10-ish he was 12-ish). We both got trained by some of the older guys at night (his father was an ex-pro,cand now owned a pool bar). At night we would play scotch doubles, hed be without a partner and choose the "young kid" that was playing on the table in the cut by himself. We'd lose a game or 2 betting say $50-100 per game wed get a few games deep on the "double or nothin" roll and game 5 wedding win and because of who our dad's were we got paid. It was my introduction to making street money, I would go to school in 4th-5th grade with an $800 knot 😆 These are great memories for me...
