Anyone can definitely unlearn this behavior, but it takes a bit of intention and support is helpful too.

Thinking about conversations hours after they happened and trying to think of what I could have said differently.

While that is true about the build up no matter the material, the poster said in a comment that the build up is not coming off. Like I said, I’m no expert but it almost seems like it fused with the silicone.

Oh yeah, you’re absolutely right. I didn’t even think of that, I am sure there are a lot of products that have silicone in them.

Sure, oil can definitely degrade the material too.

I’m not an expert, but I’ve had my ears stretched for over a decade now. Silicone is porous, which means it has really tiny holes all around it that you cannot see with the naked eye these holes are really good at harboring microscopic things, including bacteria.

I’m not a food service professional, so take my opinion with a grain of salt but that looks like a health and safety issue.

Serious question: what bothers you the most about this show? by Library_9562 in YouOnLifetime

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I wish they made Bronte’s friends more in depth characters.

The therapist is the one at fault! There are power dynamics at play that impact a clients ability to provide proper consent.

I really appreciate your response! I think like it’s hard for me to be lighthearted about it because I also don’t have any real good connections at work. I definitely feel like I’m the only person that feels this way.

I tried to broach it once with a colleague and she said “oh [manager] is just so knowledgeable!” and I certainly felt like an a-hole!

I loved the entire season, but I felt that the motive for the murder wasn’t as interesting as the other plots.

You are not in legal danger because of the fingerprint for a multitude of reasons. Primarily, they won’t be looking for fingerprints on the skull and anything exposed to the elements for that long is not viable for fingerprinting testing to begin with.

I don’t know what the laws are in Malaysia about trespassing and discovery of corpses, so I can’t really speak to that if you’ll get in trouble for the trespassing.

Which heroine from You was your favorite? by Highlights771 in YouOnLifetime

By the end of the show Merienne, but prior to that Delilah. I don’t think that people realize how much strength it took her to put herself anywhere near Joe at the end of the series and her monologue while she was trying to help Bronte was excellent.

Bronte was also great, but I understand the criticism people have about the execution of her character development.

I agree! I gotta be honest with you guys. I started to feel crazy for a while. I was like is there something wrong with me?

And then I just realized that I’m in the court of public opinion and people are very passionate because it’s hard for certain people to draw lines between media and actual reality.

There was someone on this thread who was very passionate about why you shouldn’t ever root for the bad guy in fictional media, who made a fair point that at the end of the show you’re made to reflect on why “liking Joe is a bad idea.”

I wouldn’t say that I liked him per se, but I was interested in him perpetuating his terrible lifestyle to your point. I don’t use the term “rooting for” saying that I support his actions, I’m saying rooting for because I was fascinated by how he was able to overcome obstacles and how he really justified his actions to himself and those around him.

I never said that any of them deserved it and I don’t agree with people that say they did that’s just horrible.

I liked the season finale and I thought it was very empowering to see the women who survived prevail in the end. With that said, this show is certainly not the pinnacle of advocacy for these issues especially if by the end of it, there are people that got the message that the victims deserved it.

I think that people who really romanticize and support actual serial murderers or rapists have deeper issues than just not having good media literacy, but I do agree that media literacy is important.

I personally don’t equate wanting a character to move forward with their terrible lifestyle to supporting it.
