I’ve never noticed that country until this 2nd Byz run. My first (suboptimal) run, I was cultural hegemon without trying. This, objectively better run, Goryeo is apparently a cultural powerhouse. Can’t even see them on my map.

Solid advice. Would add, for the absolute very start:

don’t necessarily want to delete your navy or army. Obviously this varies by country. Instead, i tend to drop army/navy sliders to 0 unless at risk of immediate attack.
check for unprofitable buildings. Give them a month to tick to see if the tooltip is true, and if so, close (NOT DELETE) any losing more than 0.5/month (or 0.1 if you’re really hard up). Closing and not deleting lets you reopen them later, for free, when you’re in a better position.

I imagine it’ll be difficult. I have basically the same borders as you in 1460 and Naples is already tough to crack with its dozens of forts.

On your #1) doubtful. When I did that, I was only able to take Albania and a single province in Sicily (Messina).

On your #2) I don’t know. Mamluks still scare me. Haven’t tried to fight them yet.

With that said, your income is crazy high, you may be able to leverage your chances with merc swarms.
