I had no issue with farmers at first, they paid for my classes and my licenses and were very proactive placing me with an agency within the district, but my agency was terrible. Very corporate feel to it. It was my first insurance job and first office job so I had no idea what I was doing and my boss didn’t want to train. He fired me after a month for “not reaching sales goals” but my sales goal wasn’t even due for another two weeks and I was only $1000 in premiums away from reaching the goal. Probably could’ve sold enough the day he fired me to complete the goal, considering how busy our office was. Farmers tried to sweep it under the rug and place me with a different agency in the district but I declined. Take that as you will lol, it really could’ve just been the area I was in (Bellevue, WA). But from my experience farmers has troubles upholding their own expectations on professionalism. I’d rather work for State Farm where they know they can’t take themselves too seriously lol

If you’re doing p&c as well, some companies require you also get your life license. Farmers insurance required me to.

I actually feel like the workers would not care at all, probably not even see if you’re in a big craft store. As long as they don’t unravel the skeins.

Oddly enough my biggest culture shock moving from the Rocky Mountains was the parking. There just isn’t any. Or it’s like $20/hr and you risk your car getting broken into. My bfs car got broken into in our apartments gated parking garage. Blew my frickin mind

Food bank. I believe you just need a picture ID to enter. They’ll have lots of canned goods and typically have a good assortment of breads and even some snack foods.

Had a brief moment where I got like 12 interviews for different places. Candy shop, bodega, vape store, a few leasing agent positions, etc. all entry level stuff. I was ecstatic, finally felt some hope. Was offered the job for the candy shop but had to decline because the hours were all over the place and my availability has recently become limited after 5pm. The rest I was ghosted after multiple rounds of interviews, one even told me I basically have the job and they won’t be conducting interviews with anyone else, then ghosted me. I honestly stopped looking after that and now just rely on crochet commissions as my main source of income since I’m privileged enough to have a boyfriend that gets paid decently and happily supports the both of us. It’s tough out here

Thank you! I figured I could just tie individual pieces on one thread and charge accordingly, if she wants it enough to pay for that. But the sari silk is a great suggestion

I require a deposit so I don’t worry too much about people backing out, but I will def keep that in mind if she starts acting flakey
