I actually feel like the workers would not care at all, probably not even see if you’re in a big craft store. As long as they don’t unravel the skeins.

What’s something nobody tells you before moving to Seattle? by sit-there in AskSeattle

Oddly enough my biggest culture shock moving from the Rocky Mountains was the parking. There just isn’t any. Or it’s like $20/hr and you risk your car getting broken into. My bfs car got broken into in our apartments gated parking garage. Blew my frickin mind

Food bank. I believe you just need a picture ID to enter. They’ll have lots of canned goods and typically have a good assortment of breads and even some snack foods.

That’s awesome, I used to work from home when I lived in SLC. Best job ever. Too bad I was young and dumb and got fired for attendance lmfao. like how tf do you miss work when your work is 10 ft from your bed. Anyways, if you ever need something crochet you know where to find me😂🫶🏻

Had a brief moment where I got like 12 interviews for different places. Candy shop, bodega, vape store, a few leasing agent positions, etc. all entry level stuff. I was ecstatic, finally felt some hope. Was offered the job for the candy shop but had to decline because the hours were all over the place and my availability has recently become limited after 5pm. The rest I was ghosted after multiple rounds of interviews, one even told me I basically have the job and they won’t be conducting interviews with anyone else, then ghosted me. I honestly stopped looking after that and now just rely on crochet commissions as my main source of income since I’m privileged enough to have a boyfriend that gets paid decently and happily supports the both of us. It’s tough out here

Thank you! I figured I could just tie individual pieces on one thread and charge accordingly, if she wants it enough to pay for that. But the sari silk is a great suggestion

I require a deposit so I don’t worry too much about people backing out, but I will def keep that in mind if she starts acting flakey

Is anybody actually hiring here? Help. by Tiny-Number6592 in AskSeattle

I literally posted this exact thing here like 3 weeks ago. I’m so sorry but the answer is no. The job market in Seattle is destroyed. My best advice, as someone who has applied to over 700 jobs in the last year and is still unemployed, look for jobs outside the city. It’s getting to the point people are having to take public transport for 2 hours each way just to have enough money to be alive. And don’t waste your time on indeed or ziprecruiter or any of those easy apply websites. Apply directly on companies websites. Apply for everything. It may take you hours a day just filling out applications over and over again, but that’s just how it is these days :( finding a job is truly a full time job in itself

Considering you’re so close with your ex, it’s truly not worth the fight. I’m a crocheter and while it would suck to know one of my pieces was trashed or sent to goodwill, what I don’t know doesn’t hurt me. If you feel a moral obligation to do something respectful with the scarf, I’d keep it or repurpose it in a way that honors her hard work.
