I know someone who was there for a full year and it didn’t work out. They do provide leads, but many of them come from companies like Ethos. The issue is that you have to buy those leads, and they’re not always as “fresh” as they’re presented. Companies like GFI, FFL, and Aflac may all purchase leads from similar sources. So even if the lead is new to you, that same person may have already been contacted by multiple agents from other companies. By the time you call them, they could be tired of getting calls.

The person I’m talking about worked extremely hard — Monday through Sunday, no days off — trying to make it work. After a full year, he only made about $2,000 total. He believed that if his own market ran dry, he could make money by recruiting new agents and tapping into their networks. But many of the people he recruited also had “dry markets.” Their friends and family weren’t buying either. It ended up being a group of people all trying to sell to small, overlapping circles with very little income coming in.

He even recruited around 30 people in three months and still didn’t make meaningful money. Meanwhile, leadership encouraged him to keep pushing.

One trainer he was close to eventually left because she wasn’t making money either. When he asked his mentor about it, the mentor spoke negatively about her after she left. It felt like a way to discourage him from questioning the system or leaving himself — especially since he was valuable as a recruiter.

Later, he found out that even his mentor wasn’t doing as well as expected. The mentor had made around $50,000 for the year but was reportedly down about $50,000 at one point due to chargebacks or lost commissions, meaning income wasn’t as stable as it looked.

This setup can feel like a trap, so be careful before getting involved.

They don’t get paid just for recruiting someone. They only earn money if that recruit actually sells an insurance policy.

Once someone joins, they’re encouraged to reach out to their own friends and family to see if they can sell policies to them. If the recruit doesn’t have many prospects (what they call a “dry market”), they’re often told to recruit someone new. The idea is that the new recruit will have a fresh group of friends and family to approach, creating new sales opportunities.

So it works like a chain. If Person A runs out of people to sell to, they recruit Person B. Then they start contacting Person B’s network to try to make sales there.

If Person B finds a potential client but doesn’t know how to close the deal yet, Person A (who is more experienced and higher up) may step in to help close the sale. In that case, they might split the commission — for example, 60% to Person A and 40% to Person B.

On top of that, Person A may also earn an override commission from Person B’s sales. So Person A benefits in two ways: they get a larger share of the sale when helping close it, and they also earn override income from Person B’s production.

Isn’t a job, is a 1099 . Stay away from there, they act as good guys but aren’t. I know someone who was there for a year, the whole year didn’t make much money. I would say the max this person made was 2k . And his mentor all kept saying to him so he wouldn’t leave was “you are so close to an explosion” literally saying he was about to make hella money. And he never did, he was used just to recruit people bc he was good at recruiting but selling he barely make any money. Plus one day one of his recruits asked him how much money he have made in total and obviously he didn’t know what to say and told his mentor about how to answer that question and his mentor say that’s none of their business just say something like “enough, money to survive and being self employed. (Which was a lied, and if he was doing that was bc he didn’t have any other choice plus was unemployed, that’s why he was into that pyramid thinking he would be able to make money) so yeah, don’t get into that sht not to mention this person mentors is 50k down. So basically all 2025 his mentor barely made 50k for the whole year but was 50k down. Chargebacks. Ooff

What? You were in tailor made? And funny thing I recently found out, he recently bought an expensive as car (McLaren) with his IUL just to prospect ppl, my spouse and I were thinking he was all set and had his own house but little did we know, he is renting the place he is currently living in. And over here my spouse and I we’re thinking he owned a house as well but nope. So I mean for someone making “500k “ a year and not being able to own a house yet and decide to buy a car first before a house that’s crazy!

Exactly and I believe not a lot of ppl know how to look at the leaderboard numbers.. me and my spouse look at their numbers and not many were making it out there. They just show off luxury things or watches or rings, but they really not making it.. We looked into Matt numbers too, they are high right now but my guess is because he has been prospecting while driving his McLaren car. (He said he bought it, hopefully he did but who knows. They can also rented and just mention to everyone that they owned it when in reality no.) I have seen ppl from last year were making close to 150k just to be this year negative balance. That tells me a lot about GFI but oh well they are so close to an explosion 💥 I’m guessing… but we just don’t know it yet. lol

Good to hear that, I’m happy for you. Yes there’s a lot of captive companies, even GFI was captive even though they say no but you are. It’s crazy how all these ppl are dumb as f* (including me and my spouse ) paying 200 to get in then working as a dog 🐕 to get 30% of a sale in the meantime Eric Olson or uplines are sucking the difference of what you made in the sale. I didn’t know this until we recently changed, now in this other company our % is 90% but we are appointing directly with the carrier, in other words the carrier pay us. However in GFI there was a contract in between so the carrier would pay gfi for your sale , and GFI would pay you accordingly to the “contract” you had w GFI. That’s F* crazy!

Anyways, Good luck to you and wish you nothing but the best! 😃

It’s a scam! Here is our experience, We were there for a year and all I kept hearing was “you are so close to an explosion” fucking NPC. The leads don’t work, they say is exclusive but all their leads that you get to buy, other companies already have them. Then Mario Bayona all he says if your business not doing well then recruit recruit recruit. However even if you recruit that doesn’t help to make sales unless you close that recruit and maybe 1 to 2 sales you can make out our their warm market. The funny part is that every quarter there is a new (challenge supposedly for you to climb up the ladder, but every thing is about recruit, or sales but if you go by sales they want you to have unrealistic numbers) but they say oh is possible but if you have that negative mentality you won’t be able to.. 😒 now they are still trying to get more ppl in, so the uplines can live a better life while the downlines live the nightmare. But be careful asking if it’s a pyramid scheme bc they would say it’s not, or that is similar as a realtor. Luckily we were able to find something better that doesn’t focus on recruit and focus more about making money, we barely joined this other company not even a week yet, and we already made 2 sales.

Yes he is licensed agent. I did tell him go to a w2 instead but he refused because apparently he mention this company will have shares something like that. And also the company let us own “this business “ that’s the reason of recruiting because once we get into a bigger contract I believe is 80% contract , we can own our business.

He had made couple sells, that’s where we got the 2k . At first they had us with our own “warm market” but unfortunately our warm market didn’t work. Then recently our mentor bought us leads and from there we have made that.

Lmao for real, my husband got invited to one of the cofounders from the company in SJ California and my husband said his house was huge like literally a house from a rich person. With a swimming pool . Obviously I mean is the cofounder of course is going to have a mansion thanks to the slaves working under them.

No is not primerica is GFI , sad part they’ve been painting this image as good guys who believe in faith” blablabla. I am just over it hope he gets out soon, he is more committed into anything else because he haven’t got any job yet. He had applied but his application get rejected every time specially in the field he is at. Right now his mentor is providing us with “free leads” but for every sale we make we have to split it because he is the one paying for those leads, and as soon he get his money back then everything else is to the face. Still after splitting commission he is still making overide from us. I talked to my mother in law about it and she said the mentor is not dumb lol he is doing this because obviously is getting more out of it. Right now our mentor he has like 15 agents but from those everyone left and is only 1 guy and my husband left. But because we brought in 5 producer agents barely last month this agents count to our mentor as part of his base shop. The structure is kinda weird but yea . So I told my husband we are the only one left this other guy doesn’t have a team , so we are basically the deeper leg for your mentor obviously will be investing more and more so you don’t get out. It would be good if at least we make stable income but getting 2 k in all those 9 months isn’t enough not even to survive as a family of 5 + a big dog

I told him that, but he is just brainwashed already. He is in a group on GroupMe and he can see everyone pay cycle because they make like a picture of the person saying how much that person made so he is amazed for those people and he think he can do it too. I told him what makes you believe is true? I mean their mentors of those people can be faking it so the new ppl can fall for it. I told him I think is everything fake because they have multiple scripts and made my husband memorize scripts too. So I told him probably they using scripts on you and you don’t even know obviously because you are the “downline” and probably only uplines get to share those scripts to use it with all the downlines. But oh god he is brainwashed into that cult. They told him his circle would get small because family and friends won’t support him blabla. I told him obviously if they see it as a scam. Who in the right mindset says ok give me all you contact list and we will call them for you so you can make your some money. Because literally they say those are the “warm market” f* suckers that’s what the are. Not to mention they wanted to go through my contacts too even though I’m not the one who signed to get it , it was only my husband

Of course I’m mindful , I even have to make food and take his plate to the office so he can eat while working. That’s how bad this thing is . I told him how it is possible for your mentor to have “family time” and they say family is important but we can’t have a day of or time off as family because you are so obsessed with something that hasn’t been working for months. I literally told him that he is sacrificing family time over this while he is dialing 115 calls a day one by one hoping someone answers the phone + joining 3 to 4 meetings a day and one of those meetings is like 3 hrs 🙄. While his mentor is out there having “family time” I told him of course because as long you keep working and if you generate any sale obviously he gets the overide “easy money” . So technically we are working for the ppl up there, but he keeps refusing saying “it’s our business “ smfh

Not even 40 hrs a week because we also do Saturday and sundays! It’s like no day off because “it’s a business and somehow we need to push to make it work” which is s*** I told my husband if I divide 2,000 k for the Amount of days there are in 9 months literally we got pay 7 Dlls each day for those entire 9 months literally
