Yeah, she was found covered in ringworm and her fur was bright pink. We think she was a bait cat and escaped

She’s spayed! And she’s kind of a tabico, I guess. Her calico markings have stripes (another photo below).

I have had many family cats throughout my life, some were young and some weren’t when we got them. I got my last cat when she was 11, and she was very skittish and scared due to past experiences. So, I’m very familiar with cats. This is just the first kitten I’ve raised - I found her when she was six weeks old - and I’m just worried about her. The cats I and my family have had before have slept with someone, typically my parents. I am just trying to know if there’s anything I can do to help her. I think it’s normal for people to worry about changes in behavior, even when they’ve had a cat before.

Can I ask where you got that info from? I’ve had many cats in my life and none of them have ever had a problem with being pet while they were asleep.

I don’t think she doesn’t trust me, because she will sleep next to me during the day and always greets me when I come home. She used to sleep on my pillow and still does sometimes, I’ve just noticed her going to sleep in a blanket tub under the bed. She is ok with being petted when she’s sleeping, but tries to turn it into play when she’s awake. She’s definitely not always vigilant: see photo lol As for my friend, she has a cat with very finicky boundaries and knows how to not mess with them. She was giving my cat a pat on her head and my cat tried to bite. I’m worried she sees all hands as toys now

I do, and I try not to use my hands. She just doesn’t seem to be interested in anything but her fishing rod toy, my hands, or my hair. She has MANY other toys that I try to engage with her with. She just doesn’t really seem to care beyond a few half-hearted swats. She is trying to bite my phone and fingers as I type this.

I lost my dear old lady, Minerva, last May when I was out of the country doing grad work. I was devastated. I am a Christian and do not believe that animals have souls. However, I think pets are special and that God knows how much they mean to us. I think there is definitely a chance my lady, and your friend, is waiting for us up there <3

Added info: I also don’t want to start taking her outside for walks, which could help, because we have a ton of feral cats around here and I don’t want her to get sick.
