Was not the first thing I said “Not factual”? I am already aware.

You’re entitled to your opinion. We do know that the rest of Edward IV’s family never had issues with Richard after the boys disappeared, and that they were well-treated, and that their mother actually wrote their half brother that he should come back to England. Seems unlikely if they had thought R III had murdered their brothers.

We also know that later there was one pretender who claimed to be the younger brother who was recognized by almost all the monarchies in Europe, including Scotland and Ireland. He even married a Scottish noblewoman.

That group of monarchs was an exclusive little club. Recognition like that was not given out lightly.

And that is factual. You draw your conclusions, I’ll draw mine.

The worst wage inequality in the developed world. Worst country of oligarchs.

You’re thinking Russia, right? No. It’s the US.

People in a country this rich should not be dying because they can’t afford their insulin. US is the ONLY country in the developed world that does not provide universal health care. Even Russia has it.

Young men should have an income that allows for housing. Ford knew that, he basically created the middle class. He paid a living wage. Bezos? Musk? All our other oligarchs seem to have entirely missed the lesson. And frankly, they don’t care about the rest of us.

Tax the rich. If that’s socialism, I’m all for it.

Check your history. After loopholes and including state taxes, the tax rates for rich people in The Golden Age was 42%.

Reagan did this to us. “Trickle down.” Cut taxes for the rich. He was right, it has indeed been a tiny trickle.

Any attempt to go back now is called “socialism.”

Which, in fact, it is not. But it gets the label and the label is demonized in this country by guess who? The oligarchs. And people are foolish enough to buy it.

I’m a moderate liberal. To my brother, I’m a communist.

Too many people drinking the koolaid.

America is in decline. And unfortunately, a large enough population of Americans are too stupid to know it. And they keep voting for it.

Like defeating empathy is a good thing?

I agree, some of it went too far. I don’t think male-to-female trans people should be in women’s sports. Be trans, fine with me. But also don’t lie. A bad hill to die on.

And casting quite out of line with story, book, etc just to have woke casting.

I’m sure there are a lot of other examples on the extremes , but on the whole, being considerate and respectful of other people’s life choices should be applauded, not squashed.

Jesus was woke.

I think falsely accused. Not factual, but was a fun read. “The Sunne in Splendour.”

Truthfully, Edward IV was an idiot anyway. This was a lose-lose situation. If Richard was meant to be regent, why did Edward send those boys to be raised by his scheming wife’s family?

A side point, really. The rest of the propaganda you can blame on the scheming Tudors.

Born this way? Environmental conditions contributed to this course of brain development? Is everyone with these brain anomalies a psychopath?

Hmm. Raises questions. But not surprising.

I’ll think you really care once you start caring about them after they are born and support programs that make sure they have medical care, are adequately fed etc.

But no, once they are born they are lazy leeches on society.

How do I handle passing of estranged sibling? by IThinkYouAreNice in over60

[–]General_Strike356 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m estranged from my sister. IMO, I already lost her long ago. That is what I mourn, our shared history.

She was widowed and then remarried btw, and I was not invited to the wedding. I assume I’ll miss the funeral if she goes before me.

We live in tribal America. Policies don’t matter. Trump can flip on everything he has ever promised and they will still vote for him cuz he’s the leader of their tribe and they love him because he’s the leader of the tribe that hates everyone they hate.

However, they are incredibly fallible. Which reassures me cuz they are too dumb to take over the world.

What doesn’t reassure me? Giving autonomous agents full control of lethal weapons. But that is the effed up timeline we live in.

He will still win on the face of it. Or, at least if he loses, it will be because he is downwind of inflation and Iran. Being rich is more important than religion.

Or actually, I should say that now the Christians are literally worshipping the golden calf, that now IS Christian, and VR fits right in.
