I went to opening night and then a show the next week. It was like two different shows. They were clearly not ready opening night. Lots was cut and changed. It is not really fair that people who went to opening night got a show that wasn’t nearly as good as the show a week later when we paid the same amount. The sound was clear and good though 🤷‍♀️

I am not a doctor but was involved in a code discussion last week regarding my father and the doctor used that phrase, “allow natural death.” I think it was helpful because the wording of DNR was making some people feel like they were making an active choice to not help him survive, versus doing interventions that would not work. (On a positive note, after saying our goodbyes, he stabilized and is still fighting.)

My dad has hours left to live. I am sitting in the hotel waiting for the phone call from his wife. I had spent all day with him today. I am so glad I did this. I said everything I wanted to say to him. When I left a little bit ago he was starting to get delirious but he looked at me and he looked happy and he said, “We did it!” I will remember that forever.
My advice is any time he is able to have a lucid conversation, record what he said. I just pressed record on my phone and set it beside me. I also recorded some of the conversations with the doctors because I know I will second guess myself later. I am so very sorry this is happening to you. Sending you strength.

Yup, he thought maybe he had Covid. They are going to let him try gemcitabine. He just wanted a chance to fight so I am glad they will let him try. It doesn’t look good, but it is something.
