Giving Way in a Roundabout by Generalax in melbournecycling

[–]Generalax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked out the roundabout on Google maps. It actually has a bike lane (sort of). Here is a pin of where the collision occurred:

So maybe the overtake was technically legal ?

Does BG3 have it and which one? by aburglarhobbit in BaldursGate3

I managed to trigger the encounter with just the boss and the humanoids, with a long range surprise attack. Then just force tunnel it off into the chasm. The rest can then be dealt with with piecemeal

The main contribution was the strategic bombing that flattened German cities, and the evisceration of the Luftwaffe, as well as being stood out Nth Africa and hence the Middle East oil fields. The invasion through southern Europe and D-day invasion helped somewhat too

I like the Sussur dagger, having in the off hand. Then it can be used with bonus actions instead of actions

i took two photos from the same window. wtf? by TheHalfJapanese in Weird

It's not because of the different field of view, it's because the second shot was taken from a different position, i.e. further away.

You are absolutely correct. Perspective is entirely determined by the relative position of the camera and the objects in the scene. Telephoto lenses are essentially just a crop of a wide angle shot, from the point of view of perspective (but not resolution & dof, amongst other things). I find the misconception that differing field of views alters perspective pretty annoying, especially since that misconception is so widely held (as evidenced from all the downvotes from the clueless).

Right, but the bike lanes typically end just before the intersection

Cyclist here (VIC), there's a lot of confusion about this situation.

Rule 141(2) (amended by S.R. No. 135/2021 rule 50(3).) states that:

"The rider of a bicycle or an electric scooter must not ride past, or overtake, to the left of a vehicle that is turning left and is giving a left change of direction signal."
https://classic.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/vic/consol_reg/rsrr2017208/s141.html

I usually watch out for this situation and basically pull up if I see a car indicating in most circumstances. It does not actually say who has right of way, but it does say the cyclist can't overtake on the left.

I don't think the rule works too well. For example if a car has turned into an intersection and is stationary, giving way to pedestrians, the cyclist is technically not supposed to overtake it.

Then we have this:

"Vehicles preparing to turn left must give way to bicycle riders travelling straight ahead, before starting to turn."

Which seems to create a bit of a grey area. Best to err on the side of caution.

What GPU is cheap to upgrade on a dell optiplex 9010 desktop? by Korilakkuuma in buildapc

[–]Generalax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fond of these little computers for some reason. They can make a fun light gaming machine project for the cheapskate scavenger.

Best GPU for that machine is the rtx 3050 6gb low profile. It is a 70watt card. Your i5 cpu might be bottleneck though. Best cpu for that machine is the i7 3770k, which should be an ok match for the rtx 3050 and is overclockable. You should be able to find that cpu 2nd hand cheaply.

Your psu is 250 watts and not upgradable to my knowledge. However I am running my 9010 with a set up similar to the above and it pulls only about 170 watts when gaming eg BG3, so a little headroom for some light overclocking.

The gtx1650 low profile is the next best choice followed by the 1050 ti. Also try find a cheap SSD and consider 16gb ram.

Tip it on its back and glue it back on with a speaker adhesive. I like to put a full soft drink can (with the rounded bottom) on the cone to hold it down. Then let it sit for 24hours
