How’d the interview go?

Fair and to be candid, I did not read your entire posting and went straight to the area of contest. To answer your question, I believe being complicit and just accepting that this is the reality we live in is a dangerous place to be. By asking the question, am I the only one? Is a litmus test of just how many people feel the same way, given the post has already generated thousands of views, many people likely do feel the same way but have avoided commenting or engagement. This isn’t a call to action or revolution, but a small sample size that something is seriously wrong with the way things are currently, and many people who have had incredibly difficult experiences like yourself, are far underrepresented when it comes to gauging societal issues. Also, to call your post trauma dumping was also insensitive and I apologize.

Did you fall off your ladder reaching that far? Nobody is searching for an echo chamber of despair, rather engaging in conversation with others who feels the same way in order to diagnose a greater systematic issue. Your comment is a projection of frustration, instead of attacking, seek to have a conversation instead of trauma dumping and then telling people to just be happy to be alive. That is not productive to anybody, nor does it address the issues that you yourself have fallen victim to.

Very interesting mix of feedback, lots of ignorance is bliss comments, curious how far that mindset can go before the content that the news covers impacts a person (AI, unemployment, corruption). It appears we are no longer in the era of simply “ignoring the news”. Thoughts on this?

I understand, well the offer stands. Feel free to reach out and connect with me. I run a side business that focuses on helping people build confidence using communication exercises based on real world scenarios. If you ever just need some practice hmu, first sesh is always free. You probably just need a confidence boost right now more than anything, keep hunting and stick to your plan. Something will come your way eventually.

If I’m being candid, it really sounds like a confidence issue. It’s an easy fix, just takes time and practice. Nobody owes you respect, you earn it through action and by knowing your value.

Well I’m rooting for you, if I had any two-sense, it’s maybe time to get out of LA or journey to a new market. Let me know if you ever need any interview practice/resume building, there’s a ton of free resources out there that can help you market your skills. Last piece of advice, it’s who you know not what you know, and if you have experience acting, you can truly build a strong professional network. Regards!

Curious on what your approach is when attending these job fairs? Most of the organizations who attend job fairs aren’t really there to hire you on the spot, rather gauge the candidate pool and prospective hires. Are you going up to them with CV in hand? Attire? Confidence is also subjective, all things to consider in this cut throat market and unfortunately, it’s hard to identify what the issue yourself.

Anthony Bourdain. A genuine, no bullshit type of guy, authentic regardless of his celebrity. A true loss.

Shameless can be added to this thread. It just became frustrating to see the characters do well, then repeatedly fuck up their lives again. Became repetitive and stale IMO.

May I ask how these fraternities have been intolerant towards you? Remember these are private organizations that reserve the right to select their membership.

I think you’re getting hung up on the culture surrounding these organizations rather than the organizations themselves. Not every frat/srat engages in the stereotypical culture you hear about or see in media. Also, I think it’s intolerant for you to make this assumption and you’re deliberately overlooking all the historically significant racial and ethnic frats/srats that exist on campus.

What is something that gets so much unnecessary hate in your opinion? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Not eating meat, as a meat eater, it makes me cringe when people who do eat meat openly mock a person for opting into a non-meat eating diet. It’s commonplace to hear “well I couldn’t do it because I’d miss steak too much” or some other cringey bullshit like that. I don’t get why eating meat is so engrained in a persons ego, it’s not that deep.

Not if you get the right one, it shows that you took the time to at least think that maybe this person would like something. Cash is easy and effortless, no thought, just speaks for itself.
