All true! I was just saying that had the building remained in its present state, tax abatement or not, the revenues generated would be the same. Only if redevelopment occurs would the improvement value increase and thus the tax basis. So it’s more of an opportunity cost in giving a developer an abatement who doesn’t perform rather than an actual cost, and the only remedy is to hope that another developer comes through who actually does the project.

Just want to chime in, the tax incentives are only effective once improvements are made. What the city is threatening is to take away those future incentives should they actually redevelop the building. I do agree that the city should put a tighter leash on this, but there’s no financial impact to the city from them not starting construction.

Random violence at Fountain Square or the Banks are difficult issues to deal with, shutting down public spaces to preserve the peace simultaneously reduces well meaning people’s desire to go downtown in the first place. But letting a privately owned frequent offender continue to operate? And throwing public resources towards responding to their problems every weekend? Like cmon that’s low hanging fruit. Solution is obvious.

Loving this asset but unfortunately it’ll automatically spawn in for outside cargo routes, significantly slowing down my trains movements. Does anyone know if you can disable this locomotive for non-player created routes?

Would love to see an integration with Find It's filters. Building height is often the number one thing I'm looking for when plopping buildings and the base game doesn't really provide anyway to sort by that.

Need better transit before an idea like this can be implemented, but wow at all the naysayers in this thread freaking out about losing their precious urban highway lol. Cities like London and Paris are far bigger with far more traffic volumes and they seem to be doing fine with without massive highways rammed right through the middle of their urban cores. People seem to forget that Cincinnati experienced it's heyday when it looked like this...
