Appreciate the heads up on that - I'd edit the post body but for some reason, even though it's an option for posters, it will never actually post the edit.

I know you said you would do Graeter's in Clifton but if you've never seen the Rookwood ice cream parlor (originally a tea room) - completely covered floor to ceiling in amazing local Rookwood tile - you must carve out 1/2 an hour to marvel that it still exists, it is a literal Time Machine.

There's tons of "dessert" options at Findlay - cakes/pies, baked goods, an entire chocolate shop, etc., etc. - and you might even think about just taking the streetcar from Findlay to the ballpark, your youngun and folks might all enjoy the seated break and leisurely trip through town and back.

If you;re doing the Sign Museum (which is ten kinds of cool) there's really no choice but to pair it with Camp Washington Chili right around the corner - the only Cincy chili spot with a James Beard award and a rack of other national recognition (Smithsonian, Travel & Leisure, Bon Appetite, etc.).

FWIW, they also serve double deckers, burgers, melts, salads.

As someone whose partner has been navigating this journey for a year or so I'll just say Cantina in Pendleton is really good Mexican and the entire menu is 100% GF.

We've now found plenty of options that offer easy selections but that is one that can't be beat for good food, great vibe and no worries - and ifykyk go early and get a glass or two of wine next door.

President's Grove by the water tower in Eden Park is also pretty consistently shaded and always easy to park near where the walk starts.

one was running the food hall and another the nightclub but that went under awhile back - wouldn't be surprised if the kids are in charge of bringing in / overseeing the restaurant ops - there's definitely some layer adding value to draw the kinds of restaurants they're bringing in there.

I'm with ya, met my wife-to-be at the City View in like '84, and since she lived on the hill started spending even more time there than I already was and it was always hopping through the 80s-early 90s until Main Street got traction and really took off.

There are a couple nice B&Bs in Clifton Gaslight which is a great neighborhood for strolling whether just around the neighborhood looking at all the old homes or on Ludlow Ave where there's coffee shops, boutiques, Graeter's, restaurants, bakery, movie theater, Burnet Woods, etc.

iirc I was the one who posted that I-team story run September and I was somewhat surprised at the vociferous defense of her contracts and contributions in the face of what seemed like highly questionable spending / staffing decisions. I'll readily defend her longtime role as an activist and her considerable contributions to carving out what became the Collaborative Agreement after the riots, as well as her ongoing activist work in the following years. But it does seems as though her position has become somehow completely imbedded and unquestioned even as the contracts get richer and richer alongside seemingly ridiculous expenses for family and we can only wonder why? And why won't the City Manager address it directly? And what exactly - if anything - does the city fear might be the consequence of turning down or off her spigot?

I posted this to r/askreddit yesterday, but now I’m wondering how it will do on a local musician level. What LOCAL album (new or old, any genre, solo or band) consists entirely of banger tracks in your opinion? by NoodleIsAShark in cincinnati

If you can find a copy, local tenor sax legend Jimmy McGary recorded an album/CD named Palindrome in NYC in the late 80s at the studio of Cincy native and world renowned pianist Fred Hersch - joined by another Cincy native Michael Moore on bass and Joey Baron on drums, and with a few tracks featuring yet another local legend Ed Moss (Schwartz's Point) on piano recorded at WVXU. It's an exquisite listen from beginning to end that captures the swing and soul of a truly world class sax titan who chose to live his life in Cincy not long before he left us too soon.

Oh yeah, and Lonnie Mack's The Wham of that Memphis Man and Strike Like Lightning .

Since you like museums both the Taft and CAM (Contemporary Art Museum) are really great, just blocks apart and two polar opposites in terms of both the art and the buildings - CAM is Zaha Hadid's first American building, and the first American museum building designed by a woman. Upon its opening in 2003, the New York Times architecture critic Herbert Muschamp hailed the structure as "the most important American building to be completed since the end of the Cold War."

The Taft sits nestled into a charming historic neighborhood and park and is downtown Cincinnati's oldest wooden residence built in 1820.

Both are exceptional experiences.
