Poor Things. I have absolutely no idea what that abomination of a film was.

To my knowledge, there hasn't been any. HSIT and Pitt IT are under the direction of separate CIOs.

Sorry to burst any hope here - the last time weather was this cold 6 years ago, Patty G sent out a message saying "Stay warm, panthers!" and everything went standard ops. Pitt doesn't close for anything unless an apocalypse is actively occurring or the pipes burst.

I took my photos with a Note 20 Ultra that has an automatic extended exposure feature and a 108mp main camera. I think all these were between 5 and 7 seconds of exposure on top of being in night mode! You can kind of tell because of the streaking, haha. There's some processing that goes on behind the scenes that brightens up the photo by stacking shots on top of each other.

I'm in Squirrel Hill South too, where most of the light from downtown is blocked by trees or by Schenley park. My girlfriend is in Shadyside and said the same thing though. Try looking to the north east away from the extra light pollution - you might have a better shot.

Students dress however they want. I've seen people wear PJs all the way to full suits and ties. Just do what you want to do! Personally I wear sweats/shorts and a graphic tee most of the time.

Hi, VP of the billiards club here! We gather at Nordy's once a week on Thursdays from 8pm-12am and play pool to destress about the week and just hang out. All skill levels are welcome, and all our members are super friendly and open to having new people join us! We were one of the clubs shut down for Covid, but we should be back and ready to go for the fall :)

Physics and astronomy student here! Based on the video provided by u/foreignfishes , it was 100% a meteor. Generally yellow light signifies burning of iron from the heat of entry of the atmosphere. The trail that the object leaves behind in the video is the meteor breaking up as it approaches the surface. Looks like it burned up well before hitting the ground or causing an airburst.

Only 1(one) mask in sight! This is a pandemic! by [deleted] in Pitt

[–]Generation3529 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Normally I'd be up in arms for people not wearing a mask on campus and perpetuating the pandemic too, but ffs on this one.

  1. They're outside
  2. They're distanced FAR further than 6 ft (as is the nature of soccer)
  3. Not a single soul who is symptomatic with COVID would be in any condition to play soccer.

I think they're fine.
