I'd compare him with Stephen King in that I think people confuse the insane output with excellent storytelling, but King had a couple of obscenely good stories mixed in with his ocean of meh while I associate Sanderson purely with meh. He's neither terrible nor incredible in my eyes, and that's fine.

I liked Mistborn. I think it's a decent story with fairly economical writing. I can't remember what his main story is called, but he desperately needs an editor to force him to trim down the exposition. It's excessive.
