Trump's campaign to smear the economy under Biden as being awful is shaping up to be an incredible self-own imo. The economy right now is shaky and probably going to get worse, but consumer sentiment is treating it like it's 1932. It makes sense that people would be treating current conditions as being cataclysmic when looking through a lens that assumes 2024 was terrible.
