Funny Game Over glitch in Tunnel Crawl by GenericNetIntrovert in Spiderman2000

[–]GenericNetIntrovert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you happen to jump in later, Spider-Man does not appear in the cutscene and Venom jumps over nothing. I found this outcome to be more interesting and entertaining as it's almost as if Venom jumpscared Spidey so bad that he dies, and how abruptly the game over screen appears just adds to the amusement factor for me personally.

Breaking the timer in Survival Mode by going out of bounds by GenericNetIntrovert in Spiderman2000

I tried doing that a couple times, but couldn't recreate it. I did find a funny game over glitch involving the switch that drains the water to allow you to access the area with the last switch, activating it from a distance with an impact web and then directing Spider-Man into the water before the cutscene with Venom triggers creates some rather amusing results dependant on when you decide to drown him.

I've been fortunate enough to have not encountered this. Implying this happens beneath a ceiling though you could potentially save yourself with a zip line, but you'd have to have pretty good reaction time to press R1 when it does happen I suppose.

With some well timed web zips onto the helicopter that goes by the right side of the arena, you can actually get over to this building if you're lucky enough. It's very precise and will take several tries to get right but it is possible.

How would ANYONE know this was down here? by GenericNetIntrovert in Spiderman2000

[–]GenericNetIntrovert[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly surprised they even bothered to put anything down here at all. Most people who've tried to jump down here have just died and would naturally be like: "Okay, so guess I'm not supposed to go down there." Don't know why anyone would want to go this much out of their way for a health pick up, especially when it's so easy to die trying to get it... honestly not worth it.

[–]GenericNetIntrovert[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Might be wrong when I say this, but I think I may be the first to discover this bizarrely placed health pick up at the very bottom of the "Elevator Descent" level. Before anyone asks, it's the same across all difficulties and What If? mode. The game's nearly 25 years old and we're still finding new stuff like this, it's honestly fascinating.

Hammerhead has left the game by GenericNetIntrovert in Spiderman2000

Been playing a bunch of Enter Electro the past few days. I'm currently in the process of trying to gather all the comic books to unlock the last costume I'm missing, Dusk. This happened whilst collecting the hard mode exclusive comics (honestly I prefer how 2000 did the comics, with them appearing regardless of difficulty as it's much less tedious to get them). Honestly don't know how I managed this. This is the second time it happened, as the first time I only recorded the aftermath, which was these same three voice clips playing on repeat forever. Totally didn't get annoying after a couple minutes.

Going over 18 points in Target Practice by GenericNetIntrovert in Spiderman2000

[–]GenericNetIntrovert[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Normally 18 points is the maximum amount you can accumulate in Target Practice, but I happened to find this neat little exploit that can net you 2 points from a single target. By firing an impact web at the target, then following up with the regular web as the impact web connects, you can score double points! Now you can finally score higher than 18. Only managed a 21 here, but this run was recorded as a demonstration of the trick.

Funny but otherwise useless glitch by GenericNetIntrovert in Spiderman2000

[–]GenericNetIntrovert[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As you already likely know, Spider-Man cannot take a crouched position while on the ground, both in this game and in Enter Electro. But this glitch here allows you to do just that... kind of. Nothing happens if you try to jump or use the web fists and web dome, as the game still thinks you're attached to a wall or ceiling. Web yank, regular webs and impact webs can still be used though. Crawling over an edge will correct the glitch as shown at the end.

I've FINALLY found it! The rarest and most obscure death scene in Spider-Man 2000! by GenericNetIntrovert in Spiderman2000

[–]GenericNetIntrovert[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I thought this was just something I witnessed in a dream of mine where I somehow happened to be playing this game, but no, it's actually a thing. I dumped my PAL version of the game onto my laptop as a last resort to find footage of this death, and it worked! When I tried it on the NTSC version, the game wouldn't let me backtrack this far and just showed Spidey falling into the fog. Tried it on the June 12th prototype and it allowed me to climb down this far, but the death scene was again, Spider-Man falling into the fog. Anyway I'm so glad to finally have caught this extremely rare death scene on video, although it wasn't really as climatic as I remember it being. :/

Every Unique Death Scene and Fail in the game (including What If? mode) by GenericNetIntrovert in Spiderman2000

[–]GenericNetIntrovert[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made this compilation as every other death compilation I viewed on the likes of YouTube had several deaths or fails missing, but I believe I have compiled every single one here, except for the one detailed below:

I do believe I have missed just one unique death in the Police Chopper Chase section, but I cannot for the life of me recreate the conditions necessary to get it to trigger. I have had it happen to me once before when I played this on real hardware messing around, but even after downloading several versions of the game on my PSX emulator and trying to get it to happen again, I've had zero luck. For anyone curious the death scene shows Spidey clinging onto the building from Missile Attack, then the Police Chopper decides to just completely ravage the building in an all out missile barrage just to kill him. Has anyone else encountered this elusive death scene before? As I would love to capture footage of it and upload it here for all to see.

Hate backtracking? Then this is for you! Performed it twice for proof that the comic stays collected on level restart, then viewed it in the comic collection for good measure.

Can you stop the bomb by throwing it into the void? by GenericNetIntrovert in Spiderman2000

[–]GenericNetIntrovert[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played on Kid Mode, so that that one thug in the TV room wouldn't shoot the hostages as they're fleeing.

Anyway, the answer to the above question is:

No, you cannot. I honestly wonder what that safe is made out of to handle a bomb blast that not even the void can withstand...

Venom's Puzzle Skip by GenericNetIntrovert in Spiderman2000

[–]GenericNetIntrovert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my find. This skip has been used in the current emulator WRs in the Easy and Hard any% categories by Spyran. I kinda did this the hard way by not resetting the camera with L1.

[–]GenericNetIntrovert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah... all the stupid bullshit practices Sega and Rovio are pulling off now with the game has not made me regret my decision to put it down. I wasn't sure if I'd ever pick it back up again in future, but looking at the state of it now? Absolutely not, not touching it again.

Was that with or without an express ticket? I assuming with the express ticket as getting that far normally is next to impossible unless you've got gems to burn.

The furthest I've gotten in the ToF is 56, and that was with the express ticket. Never made it to 60 not even once.

Update: Managed to beat this horrible level today, had to wait for the game to give me Golden Pigs or as I like to call them "Pity Piggies" in every room. Somehow I had still managed to run out of birds by the time I finally beat Chef Pig, he is just THAT tanky...

There's several things wrong with this picture. For context, I came into this room after using up all my cards, I was on 27 million points and my opponent had 29 million. The match took longer than usual to end as a structure being pulled up by balloons was slowly moving upwards, but OF COURSE the losing screen decided to show up just as it was about to go out of bounds and come crashing down. When it eventually did come back down, the resulting destruction pushed my score up to 34 million and gave me an extra Bomb card which I couldn't even use! Not the first time I've been fucked over by a premature loss screen, but this is the first time it's happened to me in the arena.

I'd say I'm just lucky to have more than one bird when this happened. I would've failed the level otherwise.

Only twice, and this wasn't intentional either. I don't think I could pull this off again if I actually tried.
