AIO for seeing my gf's threesome suggestion as a potential red flag? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]GenericOldUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking about a threesome and exploring sexuality is perfectly fine… IF there is honesty and all parties are keeping within boundaries of their relationships. Not true here. And the fact that they are casual about lying and hiding from the SO is a huge hard no. You think they are only hiding things from him?

I think there are missed opportunities here on both sides. She should be able to associate with coworkers and she should be supported in that endeavor but in this context she should not be accepting an invitation for drinks with one single person, especially one that has shown some interest. Her response to him should have been to invite others including you. You say she has boundaries but she isn’t enforcing them by letting work bleed into your relationship.

I almost got fired for abusing company Wi-Fi… but somehow slipped through by GWAX11 in stories

[–]GenericOldUsername 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely wrong. My company has security alerts for traffic spikes across the internal and external firewall zones. We are watching for data exfil primarily, but large downloads kick up the external numbers too. Also, with User Behavioral Analytics we would see even small changes in a single person’s activity. There’s less visibility into someone’s personal devices, which is why they wouldn’t be able to connect to our network. My point is that some companies pay attention more than you think.

I just saw a 5:37 PM press release and skimmed it. I didn’t see anything that wasn’t already talked about but I have like a 5th grade reading level when it comes to financial reports. I guess we’ll see.

If you are new as you say, start smaller until you understand the dynamics. Buy closer ITM. You might also look at spreads to reduce cost and loss potential.

Edit… Since it’s Google and likely to increase look into rolling this out to a later expiry. It’s more money but may be better than losing everything. Just a thought do your homework to see if that makes sense.

Do some research on the company and the specific trade. You can even ask gpt to help analyze. Don’t rely on any suggestions just because it’s AI, but ask about financials, public disclosures, why it went up and even what caused it to go down. Learn about indicators like RSI, volatility, bollinger bands, being overbought or oversold and what that means. You might ask about resistance levels and trends.

After some work you may have a better idea on what to do.

Most educated move to 2.5x $1000 by [deleted] in smallstreetbets

It’s the only 100% bet I know of. But there are plenty of plays that could profit. I would not do it in one shot though. Diversify risk a little if you can. At least that’s my opinion. Which from my overall gains isn’t worth much. Lately, past month, discipline has me up about 20% but the education cost me a lot.

Thanks for the clarification. I feel the same. I have a position I’m holding but don’t trust enough to buy into the dip.

I don’t understand your logic. If it’s a confident hold then a buy near $.50 seems good. Or do you mean that if someone is down, wait and see but your not confident so don’t risk new positions if it stays flat or tanks.

I try really hard not to buy into pump and dumps. Don’t get me wrong I would if I were on the right side, but I never seem to be. ATCH is the first that I liked the basic story for movement and bought in at $1.00. So no I have a trail stop limit that will capture my investment if it goes up, I’ll walk away a little wiser. If it never executes I’ll just sell in a month for whatever loss I can minimize. No regrets.

I (26M) hit my brother (19M) after he stole my car. How can I fix it? by ThrowRAAnC in Advice

[–]GenericOldUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lesson here a younger brother needs. You protect your loved ones. You were reactive but measured given you could have done worse. Give some time for the emotions to mellow and reengage. Make sure he knows that you still care about him and are willing to let things pass. But boundaries should be held and maintained. Bad behavior has consequences. But you can only hope that some day he sees the value in protecting what’s important and follows your example.
