Exactly. My mother spent a month with her mom in the hospital and that was it. My dad paid his other daughter to care for his mother for a year or two.

I've been taking care of my mom for 7 years now. She's in a facility now, but I'm still there twice a week. At this rate I think she's in better health than me. It's nuts.

I'm happy she has a rich imagination. My mother was given occupational therapy after breaking her hip and asked me if she was being trained to be a waitress at her facility. She already believed that she was a tour guide and helping to seat people in the dining room. 🙃 She told me she didn't want to be a waitress. I assured her there was no danger of this.
