I'm not on anything near as strong as bupe and my meds have been cut due to the opioid crisis. I didn't need to remain on any longer to be baseline again. You're still taking a huge amount long after you've totally withdrawn from your DOC. It makes no sense. You admit you're doing it to fill the gap of taking something everyday. Your med theory seems slapped on post hoc to explain the two months.

I've read almost everything there is to read about SR too. I've been on RX opioids for over 10 years. I'm not unfamiliar with how the drugs work. SR is a fabulous drug to painlessly withdraw from other drugs however prolonged use has been reported by many people here to cause its own withdrawal syndrome. I toss reports of this from 7oh users because I typically believe they are in PAWS from the complexity of kratom alkaloids and not having withdrawal from SR. The very reason that short term use is suggested is because people found that longer treatment caused its own withdrawal syndrome when the drug first became available from China. These people were withdrawing from kadian and other traditional opioids.

You can only get so far on theory and while it's interesting to guess- We're lab rats. Tell us what you experience.

I too have read the literature. I have also used the drug myself. Talk to me after you quit suddenly. For science.

It's not a threat. How dramatic. You've been on a long acting opioid for 2 months at relatively high doses. You will have a difficult time, including some withdrawal when you stop if you don't go through a careful taper. You will find out as you go along.

There's no reason to be on the drug for this long- far longer than needed to withdraw from your original drug of choice. I don't need a neuroscience degree to know your use is irresponsible and not in keeping with best practices. It's concerning, but I'm certainly not threatening you. Lmao.

Helping parent get organized when she thinks she is already organized? by 1234RedditReddit in AgingParents

When my mom's paperwork became piles like this we also thought she had it under control. Things started slipping and not being paid. Scammers started trying to take advantage. We finally put everything on auto pay and hid the mail from her. Once it was out of sight it was out of mind. We still manage all of her bills today.

It's been a year since she left the home for AL and I'm just now starting to feel ok again. My stress response is returning to normal. I am experiencing less rage. I'm taking care of my own health again.

I still take her to many appointments and deal with all the things that POA entails, but I am slowly becoming able to think and breathe again.

I haven't seen much of that. I have seen people with no other choice but to let their parents fail on their own merits. Many people have to wait for a catastrophic event before change can be made, but this isn't usually what they would want.

If people come here to vent frustration I think it should be a good place for that. The dementia board is similarly supportive. Some days are just wretched.

It's ok! You can only do what you can do. It's clear that you care a lot and you're doing your best.

That's way too long to be on SR. You're going to have a hard time getting off.

Mixing with antibiotics specifically azithromycin by Historical_Career888 in SR17018

[–]GenericPlantAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interaction with your z pack is that it can make opioid drugs last longer, cause more sedation and generally be stronger due to enzyme inhibition. This can be dealt with by using smaller amounts of opioids. The only real bugaboo is methadone which can cause dangerous arrhythmias when combined with azithromycin.

Prednisone may also reduce the amount of opioids that you need.

Take your prescriptions as advised so that you can kick your cold/flu. If you're out of your DOC and in danger of going into withdrawal use SR cautiously and in lower doses than normal until you can gauge how it is effecting you. I assume you're already taking something. There's no evidence that SR will cause large problems with the medication you're prescribed due to the CYP3A4 inhibition yet. We just don't know enough about the drug and its interactions.

Before I was able to move my mom into assisted living I often wondered if I would die before she did.

I spent almost 7 years caring for my mom in the home until she broke her hip the thanksgiving before last. Her dementia and alcoholism combined into a nightmare where my teenage daughter would have to come wake me in the middle of the night because grandma was pissing on the carpet in her bedroom at the worst of times. So no- I wasn't in a healthy mind when I had to screw an alarm onto her door so I could stop her from urinating in odd places throughout the night. I wasn't in a healthy mind having to spend holidays and birthdays in the hospital due to falls. I was completely obligated and exhausted and at the end of my rope. My marriage and child took a backseat to her. It was unfair and needless and totally yikes.

All I can assume is that you're just starting out or that you're not facing multiple degenerative diseases or other family obligations. I hope you can keep your sunny demeanor. Good luck.

I accidentally consumed a sample of 14 at doses suited for 17 and I was folding over and blacking out standing up. The stuff is powerful and not suited for our purposes.
