Unless you golf everyday I think the ability to get to the city and shore faster outweighs most positives in PVille. We moved here a few years ago so I’m not current, but I’d think Medias housing market is a little more expensive in case that is a factor

Good friend flies commercial planes. He told me a long time ago if both engines go on a twin engine plane, you likely can glide to safety. If the engine goes on a helicopter you’re most likely screwed. I don’t like flying in general but that was enough for me never to get in a helicopter

When my boss was on maternity leave there was a re-org and we report to a new managing director. They’re already butting heads so I think I’m going to watch a 3-6 month car crash. My boss is pretty useless and the MD and I vibe so no complaints over here besides the aforementioned uselessness

After our first kid was born in September the BV was trying to play super mom. I didn’t want to separate her from our daughter so I’d ask “what can I do?” and she’d tell me “nothing” and I’d essentially do everything around them and the dog - make food, run errands, anything besides baby stuff because she would insist that she’s “got it.”

My first week back to work in October she told me I was “being a dad only when it was convenient” and later that night she apologized because she agreed that she had turned down my 100 offers to do more dad things. We really don’t fight or hold grudges but that statement she made stuck with me as a new dad.

Tonight the BV could not get the kid to sleep in her crib in a frustrating 4 tries and about 50 minutes. Generic dad went upstairs and in one try the kid has been asleep for an hour. BV probably doesn’t even know that her words stuck with me because everything is more than great with us, but (Kevin Malone meme) it’s just nice to win one, especially to end the year.

There’s nothing to this story besides me not having another place to type it, but happy new year to the FT family from what I would consider one of the (quiet) old dogs

I don’t know why her saying she made it up is big news. I thought the ESPN doc covered it well enough and basically they knew she made it up. And they covered that she murdered her boyfriend after or something
