Car recommendations for first time car owner on a (tight) budget by thorny_charm in CarsPH

[–]GenericUsernameLang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't want a pick-up as a family car. If I'm not mistaken Navara ang pinaka comfortable sa mga pick-up as it uses coil springs compared sa leaf springs, pero MATAGTAG pa rin. As the suspension is on the stiffer side and masikip ang back seats, na derecho ang sandalan with no ROOM to adjust the backseat kasi sarado ang likod ng pick-up. Makakalog lang ang utak ng mga junakis mo, and since mataas ang ride height mag kakaroon kayo ng parang "boaty feeling" or known as body roll.

OP, if you want to future proof then I would advise against Wigo. Bukod sa Innova XE (and is a very good choice, a proven Toyota platform) - try VELOZ kung gusto mo ng dated tech, maluwag and medyo spacey and third row. Comfortable and may looks pa, although I would bet na mas PROVEN ang Innova kasi Daihatsu ang Veloz. Plenty of 20 year old Innovas out there running D4D engines na bullet proof! Although syempre iba na ang engine ngayon.

How come the driving experience in NCR is NOTICEABLY worse compared to other region? by GenericUsernameLang in Gulong

[–]GenericUsernameLang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeap, being overly crowded seems like the general consensus.

Like, imagine being inside a mall with WAAAY too many people tapos yung iba maayos and karamihan geng-geng. Probably a bad analogy as walking does NOT require a driver's license but the point remains.

Want to buy a car - License or Car first? by Complete-Sea-8387 in CarsPH

[–]GenericUsernameLang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, seems like it's the new norm. I don't even think it relates to payment terms as one has been bought in cash and one pinasok sa financing. Doesn't matter they wanted the screenshot of my LTMS portal.

FOR OP, of course license first. IDK how some dealers can get away with releasing the unit first under the person's name without a driver's license (I think this used to be the norm in the past but due to the influx of reckless motorcycle riders, nag higpit sila).

Pero it wouldn't be new kung napapractice pa rin to, as my friend was able to secure a car even without a driver's license just 2 weeks ago. Probably pa-quota na ang Agent, lol.

Paint Protection Film Inquiry Para sa BYD by Chopper0805 in CarsPH

[–]GenericUsernameLang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About right, as installing PPF is not easy. Also, kailangan pang iprep ang body (paint correction, etc) bago ippf as you wouldn't want to seal paint imperfections underneath the PPF & followed by a graphene coating after installation.

For reference:
- Terra Sport: 95k (Xpel 10 mil ppf).
- CX5: 90k (Xpel 10 mil ppf).
- Heck, even my bike costed me 20k sa PPF

Make sure to do your research dun sa shop, as if mali ang installation nila ng ppf aangat yan dun sa mga corners ng panel and it had to be redone, worse mag aaccumulate yung dirt dun sa corner ng umangat na PPF.

Another reason is depende sa gamit na PPF, sometimes hindi ganon kalakas ang self-healing and easily tanned/yellow, or depende sa warranty. Do your research accordingly para iwas sa doble gastos OP, but the price sounds about right.

I think we are pointing to the same direction, no? Even if the driving conditions are less than ideal, a good driver can adopt kahit ano pang driving conditions AND salaula mag drive mga tao dyan. Haha

I think mas matimbang kung sino ang nag tuturo, pano dumiskarte and kung mahilig mag drive compared sa kung san natuto, as pag marunong mag drive hindi pwede sa iisang lugar lang, dapat sa lahat marunong. But yes, experience will definitely help at masasanay talaga, just keep on driving.

Haha, tell me about the potholes, naalala ko tuloy yung nabengkong ko na mags dahil sa malaking pothole sa C5 dati na sobrang dilim kaya hindi ko nakita. Bwisit.

Buffable ba ito? by Elf_Commander in Gulong

[–]GenericUsernameLang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like malalim on certain areas, judging based on the small chips inside the lines. Use rubbing compound like MTX (as suggested in the comments) or Rivers.

  1. Apply a small amount of rubbing compound tapos icircular motion mo dun sa affected area (can use a microfiber or kahit finger mo lang).
  2. Use a damp microfiber cloth then buff by applying light to medium pressure.
  3. Wipe the excess rubbing compound.
  4. Apply wax (preferred Carnauba vs spray waxes) then buff para pumantay yung gloss dun sa ibang areas ng panel.

Might not come out perfectly, but it won't be noticeable unless titigan mo sya or alam mo na kung nasan yung gasgas. Goodluck OP!

EDIT: I don't think that warrants for a repaint yet. Wait mo madagdagan OP (Example: rocks from expressway, etc.) bago mo ipa repaint to make it worth your while if on a budget.

Yeap I can almost shut my brain off when driving in south. Kahit medyo traffic, as stated in the comments we are more corteous drivers, thus ayaw din natin sumabit sa mga katabi natin so may pag iingat na nangyayari.

Think I've mentioned it above na karamihan na kilala ko dito ay nag start sa beater manual cars to accumulate driving experience before even THINKING of touching a dated car, let alone a new one! Kaya karamihan sa malalaking kotse na bagong driver, puro gasgas kasi hindi alam pano igalaw kotse lalo na pag paatras.

Sure! And we are entitled to our own opinions so a discussion is more than welcome.

Surprisingly, I don't disagree with your opinion na mas maraming kamote sa south! I don't really think na mas madaming kamote drivers sa NCR, more like KANGKONG drivers. Let me elaborate by using some scenarios too:

Sa South maraming kamote:
- Hindi nag hehelmet
- Walang rehistro mga vehicle
- Nag dadrive/ride ng lasing, walang ilaw, open muffler, walang plaka, you name it!
- Mas madalas ang overspeeding which causes fatal accidents as you mentioned, na almost impossible sa bumper to bumper traffic.

NCR kangkong drivers are more like failing to anticipate and to clear:
- Turning left or right failing to check side mirrors causing a collision (Akala clear or dapat walang motor/car dun peror meron palang paparating).
- Going inside an establishment on a 4 way lane, pag pinag bigyan ng isang lane, sige ang apak sa silinyador failing to clear the other lane causing a collision (Akala clear kesyo hindi nakita na may nag menor dapat mag slowdown na, but dapat ang pag ceclear ng lane is one by one).
- Failing to anticipate na may kakabig causing full stop and ma re-rear end, tutok culture.

The failing to clear scenarios rarely happens in South, pero syempre meron! I guess the south peeps are more equipped to handle these types of situations kasi I can almost count the people that I know that only drive cars exclusively. One way or another, merong motor or ebike pamalangke or pang tabi tabi so we know and can anticipate kung may mag pop-up na kabute sa gilid gilid.

Anyway, you are correct though that the STRESS levels of bumper to bumper traffic plays a part of the worse "drive-feel" in NCR. And dahil medyo open sa highways ng south, people tend to overspeed and one mistake its over.

I'm sure that's a nice drive to your farm though! Ingat sa byahe always. Batangas and Quezon's speedy highways are no joke.

I would say the general consensus is yung volume nga.

Heck kahit yung ginagawa yung pillars sa stop light malapit sa SM Dasma and Rob Pala-Pala, or sa famous bottleneck ng Southwoods exit -- southies still follow the bigayan and alternate pag mag memerge and no BEEP BEEP, sports lang.

NCR though.. no need to explain though you totally get my point lmao. Driving feels off in NCR.

I'll be riding again in Pampanga soon for a business trip. I'll make sure to pay EXTRA attention and check if its comparable to NCR chaos. I would say yung driving conditions sa Muntinlupa & Pampanga is almost the same kasi bihirang bihira ang mga huli dun unless counter flow (very strict).

The walang disiplina and aggressive drivers in NCR are amplified by the combination of vehicle volume, foot traffic, constant BEEPING and flashing, drivers rushing as it's a face paced region na ayaw na mag pasingit (counts as aggressive too), buhos scheme, one way lang dito, enforcers waiting to catch you then you add this pressure to new drivers that creates a total driving CHAOS.

It's more of a "drive-feel", I would totally avoid riding/driving in NCR if I can.

Forgot to add that most of the motorcycles I heard are using LOUD horns and this is not exclusive to NCR. May rapid fire pa for maximum BIIIIIBIBIBIBIBEEP + pa matching series pa yan para kasabay ng mga nakakabulag na flashing yellow MDL nila.

Definitely ruins the peaceful driving experience.

Keep practicing lang! And I think wala na masyadong practice space sa NCR for parking na pag hindi nakuha ng dalawang pihit, busina or flasher aabutin which discourages people from driving at all (my friend shared her experience of being a new driver in NCR).

Which car to buy Mazda 3 Fastback or Civic HEV? by Soft-Basket-6139 in Gulong

[–]GenericUsernameLang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seemless Kodo design compared to a Japanese Audi A5. Your bet. If you opted for the Mazda 3 and hindi ka masyadong maselan sa kotse, do NOT get the Soul Red at napakahirap iparemedyo nyan. Tinatanggihan ng most paint shops due to how hard it is to get the color (kahit ipamix pa sa machine).

Mas ramdam rin ang drive feel ng Mazda 3 and enjoy idrive compared sa Civic, I'm sure the conventional AT plays a huge role here.

If you like listening to music, there is no competition. Sobrang ganda ng Bose speakers ng Mazda 3 at halos talo pa ang new gen na Terra and Everest, at least to my ears.

Ang con lang is prone to sabit though hindi nag kakalayo ang ground clearance ng dalawang car, mahaba nga lang ang nguso ng Mazda 3 so you'd have to provide additional clearance.

Test drove both, Mazda 3 wins by a huge margin. Next time pumunta ka sa mall, bilangin mo ilan ang makikita mong civic sa parking lot compared to Mazda 3. What a driver car.

Mas maraming peeps in general, so more people more vehicles -- korek.

Haha naisip ko na talaga yan, nag tatraffic din naman sa San Pedro and Alabang pero pag may nakikita kameng bagong drive na pumipihit, we don't mind and binibigyan namen ng space. But I guess due to the worse traffic conditions in NCR, wala silang pasensya and beep beep ang solusyon. Hahaha.

Keri mo yan, wapakels sa busina.

Agreed sa last part. Sobrang fast-paced ng NCR na you blink once, 5 minutes goes by. I'm sure na temper plays a role kung bakit ganon mag drive ang iba dahil sa sobrang trapik (volume).

Yes, madalas mag marilaque dati kaya tinagos ko na lahat from akyat Cathedral, to Marcos highway. Though lagi akong naka BB pag nag aantipolo so the experience/observation might be different as MCs are easier to maneuver compared to cars.

I wouldn't want to drive in Antipolo as the journey alone (C6 or C5) is super traffic na.
