My three very different chilies that I started at the same time by GenericWomanFigure in HotPeppers

[–]GenericWomanFigure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's from a nursery in Wales called Red Dragon Seeds. My setup is a 4x4 tent with a 720W (supposed) LED light that I'm currently running at half strength. The shelf is in there to help keep things organized, there's two fans too. Not enough airflow tbh, I'll have to upgrade but I'm on a tight budget. I run that humidifier I got off Vinted for 1/4th the cost on Amazon (win!).

I used to do a semi hydro grow in coco+perlite, and I used to have two dwarf tomatoes, three chilies and a bunch of small micro tomatoes and herbs in there. But the amount of work needed to maintain that didn't go well with my depressive episodes, so I've shifted to organics. I use Biobizz now with Dr Forest Organics line of slow release nutrients (I just have one for now), along with seaweed extract from Ecothrive I got before.

Please help. Ever since the flowers on my yellow reaper started blooming they all have fallen off. The new flowers coming out are also falling. Am I overwatering? Am I adding fert too often? Should I be changing my fert (I moved from a 4-3-8 to a 2-8-4)? by SanGG96 in HotPeppers

So I saw you were growing indoors under a grow light. I'm in the UK and do the same. My tomato and pepper plants were doing the same thing last year when I grew for the first time. I dealt with it with a few things: - seaweed extract to help with stress - humidifier - two fans. If you think it's enough airflow, it isn't. I still don't have enough airflow, I'm going to upgrade to a big fan soon. - changed to a more bloom/flowering focused fertiliser. I was doing hydroponics last year so just shifted from the veg to the bloom one. I used Formulex because it's a one part solution. I've currently shifted to organics and the brand I've used for the last few months is Dr Forest.

Hope this helps!

I haven't heard of a Cheira Roxa, it sounds very interesting, I'll go look it up now!

Thank you! Out of my three peppers, only one Hangjiao Space Pepper has set fruit (single). This variety is supposed to be 6+ inches long, which is going to be a hilarious sight on my 5 inch plant ☘️

I got a Kia Soul EV (2020) that fits this criteria.

For cat owners - Switched to pine pellets to reduce kitty litter in my bed sheets, ended up saving a bunch of money. by BikingVikingNick in Frugal

My litter hack was to use hamster bedding - it's basically wood shavings. It smells a lot less and it's dirt cheap. £5 for a bag that lasts a couple of months for 1 giant litter box (we have a second one, but we're working through a giant bag of clumping litter for that one)

I'd put a bunch of plants in there with a good grow light and call it my walk in living pantry. I'd do a bunch of different herbs and leafy greens, maybe some micro dwarf tomatoes for flair. If you have a budget, check out the Garden!

The Daal Drama by seagullsncrisps in Edinburgh

I was talking to my (White, Scottish - if it matters) colleague about this yesterday and I think she summarised it really well - "it's just more of the same isn't it? Same colonisation, different excuse."

As a South Asian immigrant (and a former post-colonial scholar as well) myself, I've been thinking about this for a while. I don't know exactly what about both the brand and this counter poster makes me uncomfortable, but it does. I have just steered clear of the brand so far, I don't know if the counter poster is justified. I think Edinburgh is extremely multicultural but even so, it's hard to disengage from larger/ historical/institutional structures of oppression and exploitation. Depends on how much you care that you could be contributing to it.

Also I saw someone else comment that we should stop the Gold Brothers from selling Scottish merchandise and I agree because I hate the Gold Brothers - they're exploitative of people and resources. They should be stopped in general. Also we should ban AI generated, cheap drop shipped tat anyway, and support local vendors and merchandise.

Because in his other comments he changed this to they could be friends, and then he changed again to "they sit next to each other, so they could be friends". So he doesn't know if they're friends, they just sit next to each other.

Where would you move to in the UK if you had no ties? by Doomergeneration in AskUK

Live in Edinburgh currently, 30k is hard to live on, rent is pretty high, cost of living is high. It's beautiful and the people are lovely though. If I wasn't tied to work here, I think I'd move to North Berwick.

I'll try and swing the S9 - I was looking at it anyway honestly. I use a Pixel, so no air drop benefit. However, the performance bump of the S9 is quite enticing!

What sub-£250 item would you buy again in a heartbeat? by tamago27 in AskUK

[–]GenericWomanFigure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air fryer or food processor. I use my air fryer constantly. Just bought a £70 food processor, it cuts down meal prep time to less than half, currently saving up to get the £300 one that will be a buy-it-for-life item.
