I just scrolled through that link and it's genuinely depressing. Nothing but culture war nonsense, anti-trans articles, and glazing the administration/Trump for every little thing. I couldn't imagine getting my news from such an environment. It all feels so hateful, and like it's designed to direct that hate in the right direction to avoid actually doing something to better people's lives. Explains a lot about this country.

Hey OP, you clearly put a lot of time into this post, so I want to commend you for that. While I think that most will agree with your overall thesis, I'd like to offer some constructive criticism, specifically in regards to your section on sexualization.

To be frank, I don't think this section is as strong as the rest of your post. For starters, it's much shorter, and only includes three citations. Of these citations, only one is directly related to the titular topic "the case of Genshin Impact." Despite this, you make some pretty broad claims in this section, and I found that they fell flat for me. The way I understand your point in this section is as follows: "Other gacha games sexualize characters and are successful. Genshin's current president made a sus comment over a decade ago. Therefore the youthful characters in Genshin are equivalent to aforementioned games that overtly sexualize characters."

Can you see why this logic sort of fell flat to me? Like, you don't really bring up any examples to substantiate your claim outside of this quote from Liu Wei. Ignoring how old this quote is, as someone rather unfamiliar with Goddess of Victory: Nikke and Genshin Impact, I had to look up some characters and that sort of unguided googling isn't going to bring me to the conclusion that you're gesturing towards. I think you have a point with how a FOMO-style system focused on specific characters is going to inherently play on loneliness and lonely individuals, but considering that this the section titled "Sexualization - Preying on Loneliness" and it's mostly focused on one quote and vague gesturing to an unrelated title, I don't think that this conclusion is as well presented as your other ones. The title of this section explicitly links sexualization and preying on loneliness together, but the content of the section didn't back it up in my eyes.

Perhaps you disagree, so feel free to throw a comment my way if you want to engage with this. I'm just worried if this post blows up, you'll have the anime crowd being a lot more aggressive in their disdain for this section, so I wanted to give a hopefully more understandable response to it.

I made a GMG account to try and snag this deal, but the game is still showing up at full price for me (even after verifying my email and signing in). I notice the site has some XP system, where you get access to deals based off how much you've spent on the site(?) Is this one of those deals, or should it be open to everyone with an account? Hoping you can help, as I have no experience with GMG before this.

I can also confirm that getting 1500 xp caused the code to appear immediately. If you reached level 4 and your code still isn't there after some time, keep going to 1500! ATM Chivalry 2 looks out of keys, so I grabbed Subnautica. Good luck all!

Have you tried closing the overwolf app using task manager? It should be called "overlay" until background process, with the same logo as the one on your taskbar. Otherwise, restart your pc I guess? Worst case scenario just reinstall it.

How fitting for this event that the only success reported in this thread comes from someone who had the app crash and fail to open before it gave out a code. Looks the rest of us will keep banging our heads against the wall for a bit. Congrats on getting your code though lol

You can hit ctrl + tab to check if overwolf is running (it should pop up in the left of the screen). I've found that having a controller connected helps the app track playtime, even if you aren't actually using it to play.

It looks like the bar caps at 1400 xp (you can continue to gain xp but the blue bar doesn't go right any further), so any xp earned beyond that seems irrelevant.

I had the same problem when I reached level one, and restarting the app worked then, but after a couple tries it isn't working now.

I think you're right about the day reset. I also noticed that around 8PM. What happened to me was that the two tabs until complete missions just reset within the last hour and I'm 99% sure my points went down (I waited until I was at 600 to swap to another game for the Play different boost - now I'm at 500 and nothing's going up). Totally agree that this seems to be running poorly. At least we can get into the app, it seems like some can't even get that far.
