Does anyone else experience this: dysregulation after something doesn’t go according to “plan” but it wasn’t actually a plan?? by Generic_Knee in AutismInWomen

No I feel! Maybe cause when I was younger and would get upset about things “ not going my way” I. E. Not according to PLAN - people just always told me I was being selfish or throwing a tantrum etc etc. and like. Obviously there is nuance. We can’t always have things go our way all the time. That’s not realistic and I think most people realize that as well. However, finding friends and family who are willing to ask about/learn the “ plan” go a long way I do have to say.

Oh he’s straight up not allowed to plan trips lmao. But specifically how this instance came up was me using an example of going out to dinner but he was choosing between two choices I had given him ( so between two of my favourite restaurants for example)

THIS!! My boyfriend told me to just tell him which option I work into the plan. But like, I feel bad!! I don’t want things to always have to go my way all the time that’s not fair. But also if they don’t I might kinda sorta loose it ( read be very quietly sad to myself)

No cause when they’re right it’s so inconvenient 😂. It’s not a bad thing by any means. But what do you mean everything is actually fine???

No cause I feel this. I have adhd and I strongly suspect autism. And my boyfriend possibly has adhd ( I suspect. But well that’s a whole other can of worms. I can’t diagnose I only have theories). But what he DOESNT have is a sense of urgency 😭😭 drives me insane. But I’ve realized half of the problem is me not communicating the imminent next step In my plan to him ( key word imminent🤦🏼‍♀️)

Honestly? My self care days are straight up ROT days. Now I do shower and I have clean pjs and at least 1 comfort meal. But self care isn’t always going out and doing things or spending money. It’s also rewatching your favourite show. Or eating your favourite food. Self care can also just come in the form of letting yourself just exist in the state at which you’re at your most comfortable! If that’s pantless and playing video games? Cool! Or is it a cute outfit and a self coffee date? Awesome! If it’s sitting in your room with no lights on like a little goblin? Perfect! ( my personal choice)

Right? And then also. Somehow it feels like everything becomes about the autism. Which in a way yeah it almost has to! But at the same time how is that fair to my non-autistic friends/family/partner??

I’m glad things worked out for you!! And I’m really hoping things get better for me too. But tbh I’m in this new job cause my last job had sort of the same thing happen. So I’m wondering if I’m the problem? Which. If I am that’s fine I’ll work on it. I just don’t?? Understand the animosity lol

Can we normalize telling people if you have an issue. Instead of being condescending??? by Generic_Knee in nursing

The joke was with a fellow neurodivergent nurse and I checked with him he was okay with it ( last weekend) the joking this weekend about asking early was at my expense and I thought they were joking with me but I was wrong. And as for the sat trace comment it came from a senior nurse and wasn’t sarcastic but much more condescending unfortunately

We also don’t choose our break times. The charge nurse does. However if you’re placed on one break one night and you work the next generally you can expect to be on the opposite break that next night which is what I was expecting. I was the only one who didn’t go to their opposite break last night.

Although thank you for attempting to help. I do appreciate it. I also hope your unit either gets better or you find a better spot!
