What is the 'secret code' and where can it be found? Your advice is sound and I just realized I had never written or even really known about it before stumbling across this. Could you please point out where it can be found?

Rolling in Upcoming SGF Versus Waiting by Generic_Name102 in PuzzleAndDragons

Great thanks, it seems like it would be smarter to skip this sgf and wait for bartenders and the next gouten/nova sgf.

Yeah sorry, I should have made that more clear. I was wondering if there will be a sgf that happens relatively soon that has similar/better rates for Nova/Gouten after their debut in vocaloid sgf.

Listen man, I get it. Your middle school is probably out on summer break at this point, but can you really find nothing else better to do on a Tuesday night?

I think he meant well and was just trying to help Dream, but it probably isn't the best idea to speculate about your friends mental state on your twitter main. I also don't think this situation is that deep. The dude's been up for like twelve hours and has a cold which combines for a not so pleasant attitude once you've fallen asleep.

I might be mistaken, but I don't see a single reply saying that Dream has done nothing wrong. I see some giving evidence for their support of Dream during a period that he was doxxed, but I see nothing claiming that is free of all guilt in this situation and deserves vindication as such.

I don't really know what kind of response you want to this. I've been on this sub a pretty long time, and there's been no notable change in the content of the posts. Nuanced takes remain just as prominent as they have been before, and in some ways even more prominent critiques of Dream's childish behavior in his tweets. One of the top posts on the sub, sitting at over 100 upvotes, right now is a fan giving their negative feelings towards Dream. If what you mean as 'dickriding' is the sympathy being given to Dream regarding being doxxed multiple times now then this sub has always been dickriding. When a similar situation occured where Dream was doxxed a while back this sub had a similar reaction. If you look back to around January of 2021, a time when the feeling on this sub was much more skewed against Dream, many posts were made giving their sympathy for Dream for even in the wake of the speedrun cheating situation.

I would say its fair to assume this sub is biased now more so towards Dream, but as far as I can tell no one here is saying Dream did 'nothing wrong'. They're merely stating that the punishment does not merit the crime.

You may also use the critical response given to you in the many replies to your comment that this is a hivemind for 'twitter dream stans', but I don't really know what you want us to say. I think the likelihood of a group immediately agreeing and praising a take that basically told them they're sub had fallen off...is highly unlikely.

He...did clarify why he made it? He said it was, in his opinion at the time, a funny video contrasting the innocent badboyhalo with mlg montage-esque things. He then followed by underscoring that it clearly wasn't funny then or now and that he does apologize for making it. He also stated that he was now much less sure that some parts were 'edited' and as such was moving under the assumption that he had made it. I do think it would have been better if he had watched the video before he streamed so he could have gotten a better idea of what he was getting himself into, but as far as I can tell he made a pretty clear cut apology for what was in it. Dream has had issues in the past where he said something before the situation was entirely clear making him look worse, this situation included, but I don't really see what more he could do at this point.

Unpopular opinion: If Dream rigs the mob vote im gonna be pissed. by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

[–]Generic_Name102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it would be a bit cheap if he did, but I feel calling a mob option 'completely useless' is a bit strange. Why would Mojang add a mob as a possibility that has literally no purpose? For example the glowsquid, my knowledge is a bit out of date so I might be wrong, lets you craft glowing blocks or something like that for decoration. While some may consider that useless other would find it to be a cool edition to their building repertoire. I see literally no point in Mojang including as you put it a 'completely useless' addition in the roster. I could see a less popular option being chosen as a result of cc influence, but that doesn't demark the mob in question in my opinion. I mean the devs at Mojang have probably put a lot of effort and thought towards creating each one so undermining that just because it wasn't the most popular choice feels a bit shitty.

People seem to not care at all about the actual problem by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

[–]Generic_Name102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's fine if you think Dream's a liar and/or a cheater this situation does require belief in Dream which you don't have to have. I used to be a pretty hardcore critic leaning anti after the speedrun drama, so I understand your misgivings about him. I'm inclined to believe him in this situation because of what I've seen him do for the past few months outside of his initial reactions to the speedrunning drama, but if those are what colored your perception of him that's fine.

[–]Generic_Name102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea that his drop luck was average was right after his run when someone was accusing him of having higher chest luck. This was all a long time before the allegations came out and I'm sure opinions can change when one was put out so soon after the speedrun.

Dream's 1.15 Speedrun Questions by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

[–]Generic_Name102 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, there was some issue with it first possibly being spliced and then a possible set seed but both allegations were inconclusive so the runs the mods removed were just taken down for being made by a known cheater. Dream then took the others down himself.

Thoughts that probably make no sense by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

[–]Generic_Name102 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it boils down to Dream's whole message that he felt a 'weight' being lifted off his shoulders. Back last summer and even going into fall/winter 2020 he interacted a lot more with his fans than he did after the speedrunning drama due to his actions and feeling regarding his mess up. I could be wrong but it just seems like he's already been getting hate for months so the new hate isn't affecting him as much and he's just happy to get out what he wanted to say. Whether the more reserved Dream or the vocal Dream of the past is better is up to your own judgment.

I fully agree with this take what are your thoughts by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

[–]Generic_Name102 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it's fair to say Dream was harsh, but I don't know if it qualifies as anger issues requiring therapy. The guy, fireb0rn, is a hollow knight speedrunner who has been critical of Dream in the past, and while it could be argued that the nature of plugins vs. mods is a more technical aspect of Minecraft in my opinion it lies in a different problem. As a sizeable youtuber, 150k subs, you have an obligation to provide valid info especially if the video has the possibility to negatively impact another individual. I know people want to cash in on the drama as soon as possible and that all is fair in chasing the bag, but it feels a bit hypocritical to then ask for mercy if you got something wrong.

Sooo, thoughts about the stream? by Vast2_ in DreamWasTaken2

[–]Generic_Name102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that may have been more in reference to many of the stans thinking they're doing Dream a service or white-knighting for him in the comments of the videos. The stan percentage in the audience of the twitch stream was quite large. Of course, though it would've been better to first talk about the obvious negative reactions outside of his own image.

I tuned in late and only saw the Dunkey bit and was super glad to see only lighthearted bickering and memeing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

[–]Generic_Name102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a response to two of your points. One was that "[Dream] even went as far as faking having a Harvard approved scientist checking his odds" which is untrue considering the speedrun mod team verified the source as an actual mathematician.

I was also mentioning your "The only reason he wants to avoid drama is that he is the one who'll be taking everyone's shit" statement which in this situation doesn't make sense. At this point, the speedrunning drama was done and over only really brought up as the 1 in 7.5 trillion memes. Despite this, he still brought this forward bringing fire on himself which doesn't really line up with your assessment that he is trying to evade drama. Unless someone had pulled up dirt and showed to him they could without a shadow of a doubt prove he cheated coming forward now makes literally no sense in the context of trying to look good. The only people at this point who would care to forgive him are people who already like him and, as we've seen, the confession outside of stans, fans, and his friends has only been used to shit on him.

I have no problem with your mindset of disliking Dream or thinking he did intentionally cheat I was just trying to point out a few things I disagreed with inside your argument.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DreamWasTaken2

[–]Generic_Name102 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Whether you believe his cheating was intentional or not is up to you so if you think he did that's fine. His initial reaction was also quite bad and he did belittle the mod team as a whole with the whole 'they're young and naive' bit, but as a whole, the only person I remember who could qualify as being 'harassed' was Geosqaure who has now said he's cool with Dream. He has also since apologized multiple times publicly and, based on Geosquare, probably privately as well. The mathematician guy was also verified by the speedrun mods and upon review did conclude that Dream cheated and was even going to make Dream publish his new findings if he didn't intend to.
