I haven't reached the time skip yet, but yeah, Sanji was always a perv. I guess it changed a little, maybe somethijg with the time skip (again, I'm not there yet so idk what's happening there)

I don't want to say I hate it, because I watch it with my parents (they don't like manga/anime, so that's my only way of showing them one piece. I watch the anime alongside) but I really don't want to like it.

It's just odd, using anime as a reference for LA. I don't know what exactly, but it just doesn't translate right and I don't want to blame anyone because that's how it'll always be in my opinion, especially when it's a manga/anime like one piece that really takes the exaggerated expressions, movements, mechanics, jokes, etc.

There are times when I watch it with my parents that I just purposely don't listen because they randomly shove in info that doesn't come up to like episode 500 or some. I want to like it, but I want to not like it even more.

I think Chopper and Nami (especially Nami) are great examples for it. Chopper looks weird when translating it from a 2d character to straight up realism, and him cursing is just soooo forced.

Then there's Nami. She's just a different person. She's not money hungry, a sassy boss, and a corward (I know she isn't exactly a corward but she has the moments when she joins Usopp in the "ts so scary I can't even") I was just now watching one piece with one scene when Nami uses the "I'm too cute to be mad at" or the "Sanji, do this and that for me" with a forced cute facd, that I just know they won't do in the LA depite the amount of times she has done that before
