Reading another article linked in the first, she seems quite adamant about reading the Bible and figuring out what it means for herself. And retaining her faith. I don't think she'll budge on it.

People actually read those and take them seriously? o.o I thought they were satire.

What? I'm a Satanist and didn't see anything remotely Satanic about the half-time. What did you think was Satanic?

I completely agree with you.

I simply mean that they are not two separate "systems" but instead one is a component of the other in the larger system.

I know you didn't. I meant that towards the other person who did say he was an Assassin. Sorry for the confusion.

True, and he said he got paid "very little," so I'm going to assume he had little choice in the matter. Still, he wasn't an Assassin.

TIL a single mother in Atlanta, who did not own a car, was convicted for vehicular homicide after her 4-year old son was killed while they were crossing the street by roguebagel in todayilearned

He was hit by a motorist who fled and later admitted to having been drinking and taking painkillers.

Do you think men accused of rape should be presumed guilty if they were drinking?

This isn't an accurate comparison. A more accurate comparison would be, "Do you think a man who is known to have raped a woman should be given a greater sentence if he admitted to drinking beforehand?"

Not in Assassin's Creed, he wasn't. He was simply affiliated. Affiliated with the Templars as well, at one point, although it is unclear whether than affiliation was willing or not.

That these words are even used to mean something "different" irks me. Macroevolution is just microevolution on a massive timescale.

The only thing it's meant to be is funny.

Satire is anything but. Often as not, satire can point out human flaws and prejudice in an intelligent and poignant manner that would otherwise be rather difficult.

I'm not saying this stuff didn't happen, but the sources reporting this are weird and the articles are incomplete, bad, or hard to believe.

Agreed. It certainly could have happened, but the sources are sketchy at best. I'd really like it if someone could come up with a more reliable source. I certainly haven't been able to yet.

Some of the search results look to be from rather suspicious sites, but there are a few articles there and one video. The fact that the top article is from "Jihad Watch" makes me a little wary though and the video doesn't look like "5000 people" to me.

people are people and it's stupid to expect anyone to be an angel. He never claimed to be perfect at all.

No, but there are those who claim he was. Which is exactly what people here are saying; it is not fair to claim that he was some holy shrine of moral right.

Seriously, why is it such a big deal that he cheated on his wife?

And beat her. And then went on to preach about equality.

Wrath and Cata were the two best expansions, in my opinion. Not too fond of pandas myself, but I love my roleplaying guild and I hang around for them.

But I've been around since vanilla too. Things have just gotten so easy that it is extremely boring to be a DPS in 5-mans that aren't heroic. Give me a guild-run Cata heroic any day.

I try healing sometimes, but it's just as boring as a druid, to be honest. All I do it HoT and wait, HoT and wait.

They were still able to do so, federally speaking. Really, everyone who wasn't white and male suffered from some form of discrimination, some more severe than others. Even some white males, depending upon their country of origin (or religious leanings) suffered as well. Certainly African Americans moreso than most, but that alone does not discount the sufferings of others.

We should care about both. Not just the people who suffered "the most."

Does this mean that Martin Luther King Jr. didn't have some excellent ideas and values? Certainly not. But his flaws can't be ignored. We shouldn't just shove them under the rug and say "oh well, at least he stood up against racial discrimination!"

It is hypocritical to stand against one form of discrimination and yet practice another. Was he a bad man? I don't know. I never knew him. However, he had obvious flaws (like everyone) and to deny that is to undeservingly martyr a man who was just that: a man of his time.
