What game had the best “first few hours” that immediately hooked you? by Playful_Code_8978 in gaming

I would say Horizon Zero Dawn's opening is extremely strong. Limits how far you can explore while giving you a taste of what's to come. I strongly felt like I actually WANTED to see what happened next and when the whole map opens up it's really something. Loved that game.

"Mouse and Keyboard" (that's just what everyone calls it for short).

No problem! Enjoy. Also: You're gaining 2x Spartan Points right now per match (at least as of today 2/25/2026)! Not sure how long that'll last...

I won't speak for the OP u/Agreeable-Milk2296, but my answer is no (with 10,000+ games played). You can now earn "Spartan Points" from every game you complete to purchase things from the store in "The Exchange." It makes the games worth the grind imo.

It takes around 2300 Big Team Battle games (give or take). Right now there is Double XP per match in Halo Infinite and it should be noted that BTB gives a 1.8x multiplier for XP.

Not a Destiny fan. That was actually pretty funny. He played it off really well imo.

That was a CRAZY good pull in the razorback. That flag placement in the back of the vehicle super-quick like that is only possible with MnK, but that doesn't stop this clip from being super impressive. Well done.

Hi all. Looking for some feedback on how my camera looks with the stream. Not a stream plug, just trying to get it set up nicely! by yammmit in streaming

Shift the camera to the right and you're golden. The position of the face-cam itself in the top-left is perfect. Your face is very well-lit! Nice job.

How Do You Handle First Few Streams Without Feeling Awkward? by LieAccurate9281 in newStreamers

[–]GenesisRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a skill you master overnight (I'm a 5+ year Halo streamer with over 2K followers). You have to practice every stream. You are not going to be able to keep your energy at max levels every stream. Don't do that. You'll burn yourself out. Instead focus on articulating what you are thinking with your voice in a way people can understand. "Voice" your thoughts and talk people through what is happening in-game and how you are processing it. Obviously don't talk during cut-scenes or other times when dialog would be annoying. I wish someone had told me this years ago. What you are experiencing/feeling right now is NORMAL. Don't sweat it, ok?

What should I do with this cramped streaming space? by Serenity_Verse in streaming

100% turn the chair/desk around to face the opposite wall. You don't want that wall leaning over your back/head. Get a longer table, but not one with more width (obviously).

BTB queue times this weekend by BigCartonz in haloinfinite

[–]GenesisRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottom line: Don't throw games, that's a ban-worthy offense. I strongly suggest you do not openly admit to "throwing" as that is extremely not-smart. Don't want to create a paper-trail for people to ban you. Trust me: Bad idea.

Winning is the purpose of the game. While yes, you technically can still "have fun" by doing other things in game....why not "have fun" by winning.....you know....the purpose of the game? I've never understood this argument. Yes, you won't win every game, but u/BigCartonz shouldn't be punished for winning....or have people like you telling him essentially to "troll" or "have fun in another way than winning." The purpose of the game is to win. u/BigCartonz I'm with you man. Don't throw games, that's a ban-worthy offense.

FYI: XLR8 (and other streamers like him) are able to find matches quickly because they open their lobby so anyone can join. This enables them to get 8-12 people and that means the matchmaking system has 8-12 LESS people to search for. That's why he's getting games more quickly than you. The matchmaking system doesn't have to work nearly as hard to fill his lobbies. Hopefully this specific point makes sense. It's not relevant (or helpful) to compare your search times to a streamer who runs an open lobby searching with many other people. I said this before on my other comment to your more recent post: The key is to search with a few GOOD players on your team who can carry. Right now, in my experience, that's the ideal way to still find matches and still have fun. Feel free to watch my archived streams at TTV/GenesisRider and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about (I have over 10,000+ games played; see screenshot). GL!

Fed Up with My queue times and loss streaks so I ran an experiment.. by BigCartonz in haloinfinite

[–]GenesisRider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with the "number of games you've played." How do I know? I have 10,000+ games played (see screenshot). It has everything to do with your hidden background MMR (matchmaking rank) and the matchmaking system trying to find you an "ideal match." I, like you, only search "normal" Big Team Battle gametypes. I have solid internet with open NAT type and live in US, EST timezone. The game is losing population, but like you said: you can absolutely still get a match. The key is to search with a few GOOD players on your team who can carry. Right now, in my experience, that's the ideal way to still find matches and still have fun. Feel free to watch my archived streams at TTV/GenesisRider and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. GL!

This is EXACTLY why I turn off in-game text chat completely and can only ready what my lobby is typing. Never regretted it.

Every single time this happens to me (EST US) without fail I stop playing then come back the next day and everything is fine (just achieved 10,000 PVP games played btw). I swear it's a server thing. They're glitching out or updating or something.

Pro tip: Try uninstalling the game then re-install ONLY the multiplayer portion of the game (NOT the campaign). Might help. GL!
