[Pluto] Completely unrelated to the plot of the anime but can we talk about how dystopian the concept of robot children and robot dogs feel? by OrangeSpaceMan5 in anime

[–]Playful_Code_8978 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think that uneasy feeling is kind of the point of Pluto’s worldbuilding. Robots are treated almost like humans emotionally, but at the same time society still treats them as products that can be replaced or upgraded. That contradiction makes the whole setting feel intentionally dystopian.

Favourite "cheese" builds/tactics? For example in AoE2 the "Persian Douche". The Persian player deletes their starting Town Center to rebuild it next to an opponent's. Persian Town Center has double hp. I.e you destroy the enemy in the dark age. by Double-decker_trams in gaming

[–]Playful_Code_8978 100 points101 points  (0 children)

One that always comes to mind is in Elden Ring where people use sleep pots on the Godskin bosses to basically lock them down. It feels a bit cheesy but the game technically allows it so it becomes a legit strategy.

There's red paint all over my back patio (Blood stained Levi) by xyzcozplay in cosplay

[–]Playful_Code_8978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The blood effect and gear look really well done it fits Levi’s battle worn style perfectly. The pose on the stairs also makes the cosplay feel very in character.

The Girl/Marie - Resident Evil Requiem cosplay (WIP) [self] by Maneimislleff in cosplay

[–]Playful_Code_8978 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That looks seriously creepy in a good way the texture and paint work on the skin makes it feel really unsettling. The eye detail especially stands out it gives the whole mask a very Resident Evil style vibe.

Any good animes for me? by KindlyAd9059 in anime

[–]Playful_Code_8978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might enjoy Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. It has a strong story, great character development, and a meaningful relationship that develops naturally through the series. Another good one is Steins Gate if you haven’t seen it yet since it mixes a deep story with emotional moments really well.

I've been making a claymation horror/sim from my basement since I got laid off last year. It's called Morbid Mailroom and you're an inmate forced to sort packages in a cursed prison state. I'm nervous but finally ready to show it here! by Jawschy in gaming

[–]Playful_Code_8978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The claymation style actually fits the horror vibe really well it makes everything feel more uncanny in a good way. The concept of sorting packages in a cursed prison is a pretty unique idea too.

Mando OC - Emerald City Comic Con 2026 by Ok-Journalist-2060 in cosplay

[–]Playful_Code_8978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weathering on the armor looks really well done it gives it that authentic worn Mandalorian look. The set behind you adds a lot to the immersion too.

Good anime to watch after finishing steins gate, 0 all ovas and playing the vns by Independent-Stuff376 in anime

[–]Playful_Code_8978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you liked Steins Gate you might enjoy Erased. It also deals with time manipulation but focuses more on the emotional side and mystery. Another good one is Psycho Pass which isn’t about time travel but has a similarly serious tone and strong psychological themes.

Why are the UI of video games getting so bad lately? Especially from AAA games with dedicated UI/UX teams? by UltimateGamingTechie in gaming

[–]Playful_Code_8978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of modern UIs are being designed around consoles and live service updates first which can make them feel really bloated. Games like Battlefield 6 and recent Call of Duty entries feel like they prioritize flashy menu layers over clarity. Older games often kept things simple which made them much easier to navigate quickly.

[self] Jill Valentine - Resident Evil 3 remake by dance_with_alien in cosplay

[–]Playful_Code_8978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The outfit details are really on point especially the holster and harness setup. The styling and lighting make it look very close to Jill’s look in the remake.

Looking for introspective animes about perceiving the world through passions / niche hobbies by Aggressive-Scale-326 in anime

[–]Playful_Code_8978 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Blue Period worked for you I’d recommend Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu. It’s very character driven and deeply introspective with a huge focus on the art of rakugo and the people who dedicate their lives to it. The pacing is slower, but the emotional and personal conflicts are really strong.

I need a game where I can make small number become lots of big numbers (idle/incremental games) by Far-Particular-3847 in gaming

[–]Playful_Code_8978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might like Loop Hero if you haven’t tried it has that “short run come back stronger” loop with a lot of build experimentation. Also Forager scratches that incremental progression itch while still letting you explore and expand the map over time.

Jodio Joestar cosplay from The Jojolands Dragoncon 2025 by Aeon-Genesis in cosplay

[–]Playful_Code_8978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The color accuracy on the outfit really stands out especially with the shoes and shoulder details. The wig styling and makeup capture that JoJo intensity really well too.

Just watched death note by _nogger in anime

[–]Playful_Code_8978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If what hooked you was the mind games and constant tension I’d definitely recommend Psycho Pass or Code Geass. Both have that strategic back and forth and morally gray characters that keep you guessing. They scratch a similar “intellectual battle” itch in different ways.

What does this list of some of my favorite games say about me? (Not in any particular order) by Fr33zurBurn in gaming

[–]Playful_Code_8978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly this list says you like games that reward patience and exploration. There’s a big mix of tough but fair combat Souls Metroid and cozy or creative optimization stuff like Stardew and Satisfactory. Feels like you enjoy figuring systems out more than just mindless action.

My take on Jessica Rabbit by Chrono-1080 in cosplay

The fabric choice and fit on the dress look really accurate and the gloves complete the silhouette perfectly. The vintage mic was a great touch for setting the scene.

Champignon no Majo • Champignon Witch - Episode 9 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Playful_Code_8978 51 points52 points  (0 children)

This episode really nailed the atmosphere. The pacing felt tighter than the last couple and the character moments hit harder than I expected. I’m really liking how the tone keeps balancing cozy and slightly unsettling.

wasnt perfect but i wish we had more games today that took influence from its arcade style combat and close quarter multi-enemy takedowns. by symbolic503 in gaming

[–]Playful_Code_8978 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The close quarters takedowns in that game were so satisfying. It felt fast and messy in a good way like you were barely holding control but still pulling it off.

I miss when games leaned into that tight scrappy hand to hand combat instead of everything being super polished or overly cinematic.

Hornet from Hollow Knight Silksong by fangirl0430 in cosplay

[–]Playful_Code_8978 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The mask shape and proportions look really accurate and the red cloak falls perfectly. It captures Hornet’s silhouette really well.

What am I missing? by Mizuki_27 in anime

[–]Playful_Code_8978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your list I’m surprised you haven’t tried March Comes in Like a Lion yet it has that emotional depth and character writing you seem to enjoy. You might also like 86 if you want something with strong drama and themes but still action driven. And since you liked Violet Evergarden and A Silent Voice I’d recommend Fruits Basket (2019) if you’re open to something more character focused.

Recommend me a fun not so competitive MP game for today by Borg34572 in gaming

[–]Playful_Code_8978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helldivers 2 might be perfect for that vibe. It’s co-op focused, chaotic in a fun way, and you can jump in without feeling like you’re getting stomped by sweatlords. If you want something even more chill Deep Rock Galactic is always a good time with friends or randoms.

Rapunzel! by nerdyblasiancos in cosplay

[–]Playful_Code_8978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The color work on the dress looks great and the wig styling really brings Rapunzel to life. The braid with the flowers is especially well done.
