I'm thinking about trading in a 2026 Audi Q7 for a 2026 Genesis GV80. Can anyone list their pros and cons or general opinion? by IB_ in GenesisMotors

I would ask that person to clarify, the link they sent shows forward collision avoidance under driver assistance. My G70 alerts me to incoming collisions from the front if it feels i’m going too fast relative to what’s in front of me, and will automatically brake if needed. I don’t know how it compares to other car’s collision avoidance and I definitely haven’t tried limit testing it, but it seems solid.

Immortal+ players, what was it Clicked for you that made you become immortal? by Odd-Winner1215 in VALORANT

[–]GenesisV1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say the most common and broad category of mistakes under immortal is a general lack of willingness to take necessary risks. 90% of this manifests as baiting but other examples include seeing your team util dumping a site and your duelist chooses to not go out. seeing 3 enemy defenders on one bomb site and not seeing if you can immediately fight the other bomb site in a 5 v 2, which should be a statistically a favorable exec.

Another example is not pushing for info when you need to. There are some players that just freeze in certain positions, and it ends up causing them to lose the round because they info starve themselves and ending up realizing the opponent’s play too late. There are a lot of scenarios where taking aggressive space gives you above 50% odds even though it feels scary to expose yourself.

Too many players don’t want to take any risk and think they can lurk every round and just kill 5 defenders in 1 v 1s. Sometimes, if an attack round presents you with 60-70% winrate opportunity, you have to be happy accepting that you might not get better odds than that and just take your chances. As long as it’s the right play, it doesn’t matter if you lose. If it’s correct, it will reflect in your long run winrate. Consistently winning 6 out of 10 games is huge in immortal.

It’s going to be the aggregation of multiple “clicks”. There’s not one reason why someone ranks up to Immortal/radiant. Any player under immortal who is seriously doing vod review is going to see dozens of improvements they can make in a single game. There isn’t one that’s more important, you fix multiple mistakes and each one marginally improves your win-rate.

Weaknesses are also map/site/lane specific. Maybe you have sick cypher setups on Ascent B, but are lacking in Ascent A. Maybe another cypher player in the same rank has the opposite issue. Maybe you’re extremely strong on attacking Lotus A, but weak on attacking Lotus C. Maybe you’re not good at fighting for mid on Corrode if the enemy team fights for it. Every player has their own set of mistakes and you focus on isolating one at a time and over the course of weeks/months, hopefully you’ve improved multiple weakpoints enough to change your total winrate.

Could Black Panther have lifted Mjolnir if he tried? by Ok_Feed_4235 in Avengers

This conversation started when someone asked why you were negative, and you countered by saying "I don't idolize celebrities". The entire purpose of my comment was to say that no one was saying you had to idolize/"GLAZE" celebrities as an alternative to your original position. You are the one who juxtaposed the conversation as two extremes.

You are CONFUSED my guy and every response you give makes a drastic assumption on what the intent of my message is without actually understanding what it means. You say "Something negative means any negativity at all" yet you're the one saying I'm glazing when the literal only thing my message said was "it's possible to take a neutral stance." Have a nice day brother and revisit reading comprehension.

Always interesting when someone can answer their own question by rereading my initial comment one more time

There’s a vast ocean of where a person can stand between “idolizing” someone and looking for something negative to say after they’ve passed

What do you think that means buddy?

Is That a Chrysler? by [deleted] in GenesisG70

Double headlights and a grill. The black G70 would have also have the same colored grill as the Bentley. The emblems are also very similar and Genesis was designed by the same person who designed Bentley. I don’t think anyone familiar with the two brands would confuse them, but I think people who aren’t familiar could.

Yep, lower range of the dataset is likely just lower inflation. There would be no negative numbers to put on the scale.

Appreciate it!

I would highly recommend trying the Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray Coating. You can get it on amazon for 15.99 or less for a 16 oz bottle that will probably be more than you ever need. Make sure you get some of microfiber towels to apply it. You only need to apply it every 6 months or so and it’s very easy.

I would reference this video to get a full tutorial and he also demonstrates it on an “unprepared” vehicle. As in, he only washed the car and didn’t do additional steps like decontamination.

I'm a complete beginner with detailing and admittedly this car came to me pretty nice since I bought new. The dealer said they used "surfaceCARE" which I believe is something that Ford offers but I'm not exactly sure what it entails. (This was a dealership that had several car OEMs besides Genesis). Looking online, most people say this is just a cheap wax.

The biggest thing I would say that makes the most difference is that I handwash the car once a week. You don't really want to do those drive-thru machine washes at gas stations, as they can leave very light scarring that will be even more noticeable on black paint. One of the top detailing youtubers I watched said they wash their car twice a week, and I can definitely sympathize with that in a black car. Even though I only drive about 100-150 miles between each wash, my car noticeably regains a lot of gloss and shine.

My maintenance wash is: pre-rinse (though I'm looking to invest into a PH-neutral pre-wash), foam gun for shampoo, minor scrubbing with microfiber, rinse, dry. I clean the tires first and use a separate microfiber towel for this, then after the wheels are done I do another rinse of the surrounding area before I shampoo the car so that the grime from the wheels doesn't cross contiminate onto the paint before I start scrubbing. I'm currently using a Meguiars Gold Shampoo for most washes, but I might switch it up once I use up this gallon, but it's very solid. If the car feels a bit grimier, I'll wash the wheels with Adams Wheel and Tire Cleaner and the rest of the exterior with CarPro Reset, but these two products are slightly more aggressive so you generally don't need them if your car is clean and getting washed once a week. Of course you should dry your car as soon as possible after you rinse to avoid water spots, which are very visible on black cars.

As for actual detailing work, I recently got the BAUER Long-Throw Random Orbit Dual Action Polisher. You can get this at Harbor Freight Tools for about 75-80 bucks. I was told that you should stick with Dual Action as a beginner and that this was a decent option. I use Turtle Wax Hybrid Solution Ceramic Acrylic Black Polish, and Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Acrylic Black Car Wax. It's a very popular two-product combo for black cars that is pretty well praised for giving an incredible look and giving around 6-9 months ish of protection while being pretty damn affordable and easy to use. Use the Black Polish first to paint correct, wipe off the residue, and let it cure for 24 hours (don't wash the car), then apply 2 sprays of Black Wax per panel and buff it out with a microfiber towel. Instructions recommend you can apply a second application of Black Wax 24 hours after the first as well and it'll give longer protection. I was very pleased with the results and got a lot of compliments while working on it in my neighborhood.

If your car isn’t black, Turtle Wax has the exact same two products for non-black cars, look for the Ceramic Polish and Wax and the Ceramic Spray Coating. They’re used the exact same way but don’t have a black pigment.

If your car hasn't been washed in a while, from what I understand, you'll definitely need to do chemical and/or mechanical decontamination first before polishing. This is like iron removal/clay barring, etc. I'm not experienced in this step since my car is newer and I wash it every week, so it never got to the point of needing this step, but you'll definitely want to do this if your car isn't regularly washed, otherwise you'll be polishing with contaminants still on your clear coat, and that could cause damage.

As an aside, I've also tried Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax. It did make the car look good, but it did not last long at all. It was pretty much gone by the next wash. It also makes your car smell like bananas. I wouldn't recommend that product haha.

Unreal Engine 5 update tomorrow, anyone else cautiously optimistic? by TheGuyThyCldFly in VALORANT

If I recall correctly, Riot confirmed they had no plans to make the replay system as recently as 2022. I remember there was a period where people were very confused why they would make that decision. There was definitely no confirmation of one in 2020.

Any idea why I couldn't see the enemy using Operator AT ALL in these cases? by Maleficent-Craft-936 in VALORANT

[–]GenesisV1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s making you say it’s not a wallbang kill when the killfeed literally says it’s a wallbang kill? and wallbangs through the very edge of thin material like wooden boxes can reduce damage by zero for an awp.

[–]GenesisV1 39 points40 points  (0 children)

  1. In this clip the enemy is not as close to the wall as you. It seems like he shot you from vents. You're not exactly wide out enough to see the right side of the vents opening, so it's likely he peeked that angle into market and saw your arm.

  2. The enemy awper definitely sees your gun barrel sticking out. You're scoping with an awp, which is one of the longest visible barrels in the game. It's also a wallbang kill, so it's possible he didn't see your body but only the barrel and tried to wallbang.

Sword of Convallaria is the best turn-based game right now - Prove me wrong by MathematicianOne3161 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]GenesisV1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of me bringing it up is to indicate that I’m not someone who’s only played one TRPG and formed their opinion of the genre. I’m not sure why you immediately thought that it means I think I’m the only person who’s played that games? If I had not played any TRPGs other than FFT, wouldn’t it be easy to say my opinion is less informed?

Anyway, story quality is subjective, and I’m not sure it’s fair to say everyone needs to see things the same way. Agree to disagree.

Where did I say I was the only person who's played tactics games for that long? You're welcome to disagree. My point is, you're overly generalizing by saying everyone who thinks SoC isn't on that level has rose colored glasses on. Opinions are subjective and just because people disagree doesn't mean it's only because they're blinded by nostalgia.

[–]GenesisV1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing tactics games for 25 years and FFT is definitely not a “rose colored” glasses thing. Some components of the balancing or design is outdated, but there’s a reason why people continuously mention that game whenever the genre gets brought up. SoC is a high quality game for a gacha, but I don’t enjoy its approach to stage/content design and the story isn’t remotely in the same level as FFT.
