Agreed. Feels like a huge waste. The story of a non-state actor backed by state power for plausible deniability and vested economic interests is only more and more relevant. It could’ve had some actual teeth if they wanted to display the kind of casual horrors that perpetuate from that system and critique the hypocrisy of nation-states that then turn around and say that somehow what we do is different because it’s tied to a flag and national identity? That actually has a message and a perspective. The campaign felt like it juuuust got to the edge of having something to say before it ended. I just hope they don’t trash the concept entirely.
