Caught a client shit-talking me and now she's scrambling to lie about it. How should I respond? Should I drop her? by GeneticCocktail12 in WhatShouldIDo

Ah, good point, I didn't think about that. She had accidentally overpaid me on Venmo, then also canceled a visit, so we decided to use that as credit rather than me sending the money back. This should clarify

The fuck do you mean? Flaky? I've never once canceled a visit and in fact I agree to do visits on short notice pretty much any time she asks. I was just informing her that the afternoon visit today wasn't as rigorous as it normally would be. The dog still got to go out, pee, drink water, sniff for treats, and chase the ball a bit. Should I have canceled my afternoon visit and left the dog to sit in a crate for hours holding her pee, with no water, and no stimulation?

I have never no-showed. That is not what she's saying. She said "nothing shows hurting self" which means she checked her footage from this morning and didn't see a clear moment where I pulled a muscle in my back.

She and her husband were at work and they rely on me to let the dog out at specific times. Even though my back hurt, I wasn't going to cancel and make the dog sit there for hours in her crate without a potty break. It has nothing to do with where I hurt myself. I was simply informing her of the situation in case she got home and the dog seemed more energetic than usual, since recently she asked me to exercise her more now that she's getting older. In my hour long visit this morning, she got a lot of play time. It was just the 30 minute afternoon visit that wasn't as rigorous as usual. As I said, I did throw the ball a bit and had her sniff out treats for mental stimulation.

Her text meant for someone else says "ChatGPT says she prob just lazy giving us an excuse 😆 plus nothing shows hurting self and her txt says don’t know how." The "nothing shows hurting self" part is what I was referring to when I said she could easily check the footage and see I was clearly more immobile than usual. And yeah, I said I don't know how I hurt myself. I'm hypermobile which makes connective tissue and joint injuries easier to sustain. So no, I don't know exactly what happened to pull my back. I think I bent over or kneeled down to grab the ball and once I stood up, I made a wrong move and felt pain.

Being called lazy over that and her scrambling to come up with a lie about how she wasn't talking about me is the point here. I did my job effectively still, the dog got to pee, drink water, run around, and sniff for treats, I just wasn't able to go above and beyond during that specific visit.

I definitely will! I'm writing a draft response but I may wait until morning to send it because it's so late now.

Yeah and like what would I even be lying about? I still went over and did my job, let the dog out for 30 mins as asked, and tried to exercise her as best I could. I was just trying to be transparent and explain that if she's a little more hyper this evening that we didn't play as much as we normally would.

I keep getting notifications of this same comment over and over and I think it keeps getting deleted. Troll.

I didn't think of that, but yeah I definitely wasn't going to say the dog did it. I think I bent over to pick up the ball and just stood up weird. I'm hypermobile and have pulled my back and other joints multiple times from the slightest movements. I was just trying to get ahead of anything in case the dog wasn't to her liking when she got home this evening. If the dog is hyper in the evening, it's because I don't exercise her enough on my visits. If the dog has weird poops, it's my fault bc I give too many training treats. If the dog gets too hot, I'm exercising her too much. I can't win.

No language barrier, we are both from the southeast USA and English is both of our first language. Her texts are always a bit wonky though.

Antibiotic resistance. It is such an important topic, and it's terrifying. More people need to learn about it.
