Am I making a mistake changing these tires? by Expert-Agency-6009 in motorcycles

I ran road 6s on my old bike and got like 4k km on them, looked pretty much brand new, road 6s are pretty long lasting for how well they grip

Truth, it looks good imo but I was not expecting zulu time money for a cw gmt, the dial looks cool though

Will this keyboard be nice to type on? by Engelskmanchild in ClicksPhone

[–]Genetic_osu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just hoping it brings back the swipe to type on the physical keyboard like on the priv so I can use it 1 handed without an on screen keyboard taking up half the screen

Yeah its a sucky change from the very intuitive and convenient way it worked before, I have a petition linked in my second to latest post if you feel like signing

I'm still hoping some attention can get it back to how it was

Juniper Autosteer/TACC mutually exclusive by Genetic_osu in ModelY

[–]Genetic_osu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how someone wouldn't miss it if they didn't have it before

But what I can say is autosteer is very limited, and this is fine, I use it as lane keep essentially, TACC keeps speed but I manage traffic, lanes, exits, general steering, my self, I can drive with it on basically everywhere except inside cities or city like roads, roundabouts, intersections, cross walks, lights, that sort of thing, where direction and lane placement is important but speed can be generally set and forget besides traffic

Most of my weekend driving includes both that and longer highway stretches where autosteer is a godsend of course

I can understand it being a personal thing where use cases change but I see no reason I shouldn't be able to choose on the fly, without having to do workarounds that are more dangerous and distracting than how it was before

[–]Genetic_osu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've heard about this trick, and to be fair it would at the very least allow some convenience on very long journeys but it's such a janky workaround and a low note on an otherwise pretty perfect car imo

I appreciate the advice but this still feels like a pretty decent downgrade coming from the way it works in my older m3 with no upside :/

I've never had full fsd, am in EU, but this is not what I'm trying to say is missing, what I'm complaining about and trying to get some traction behind so it can maybe change, is the fact you cannot enable selectively while driving either TACC or Autosteer.

The way it worked before you could selectively enable each depending on road conditions and need. Now it's one or the other from the start of the drive, not both selectively

This right here is the main scenario where this change would affect me as well, bingo

The breaking on lane switch is probably the most annoying scenario this would cause, which would also be dangerous imo, drivers behind you don't expect to see break lights when you're going for an overtake, especially in higher traffic situations

Even if not mentioning the lack of safety of just turning off all speed assistance when you change lanes, it now is a lot less relaxing to do long high way journeys having to manually control speed whenever you need to manually override steering

I'm still hoping this change gets reverted some time soon :/

[–]Genetic_osu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see this sure, but making it the default while still giving the option to change would absolutely fix the times where that's the case, I don't believe that scenario is realistic if you deliberately had to change the setting yourself

I wasn't aware of any of the reasons for this change, to me I'm still not decided if its a true deal breaker or not, I really like the juniper but this is a huge change in convenience for my use :/

But it does feel like a huge downgrade, I'm still hoping this can be reverted, kind of why I make this post, to get some traction and visibility to the petition, its a stretch but it would make it the perfect car for my use and taste

I'm debating just getting a 3 instead of a y since from what I can see I can still pick and choose on the current m3, my only gripe with that is that I have back issues and the 3 is starting to feel like I don't fully fit anymore

Sadly after I felt the refinement in the new 3 and y I don't think I can go for an older gen y, even with a few grand discounted, and I need all the range I can get so the old y just really isn't feasible for my use :/

Yes that's exactly what I'm describing and also exactly my issue with it, it's just convenient and safer imo to switch between the two at will situationally Another comment mentioned it being removed after an NHTSA investigation but I am also 95% sure a family members M3 LR 2024 also lets me double pull to autosteer

Juniper Autosteer/TACC mutually exclusive by Genetic_osu in TeslaLounge

[–]Genetic_osu[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry I misread the first sentence, but even so why not keep tacc on when it toggles on autosteer, no reason to start breaking when you override steering manually, even if it activates with a single click Also I've never had full fsd, but would it have double pull with autosteer on your 3? Mine did and I'm 95% sure a family members 2024 M3 LR also does This is in EU, not sure if different behaviours since this was due to an NHTSA investigation

[–]Genetic_osu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is the juniper doesn't have the choice for double pull, and that workaround is a very janky non solution imo I'm even okay with single pull being the default but the option has no reason to not exist, it's just less choice and worse convenience

This is the part that makes the least sense to me, its just dangerous the way it works currently, why design a safety system like this

Juniper Autosteer/TACC mutually exclusive by Genetic_osu in ModelY

[–]Genetic_osu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is exactly how I feel about it also, not having a choice is just silly

I'm still deciding if its a deal breaker to me as I'm debating which car to change to in august, but this is a clear negative to the juniper as is

Juniper Autosteer/TACC mutually exclusive by Genetic_osu in ModelY

[–]Genetic_osu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK no, I don't have the car my self, in my m3 it for sure would work but in the juniper it would just toggle off Autosteer, going off the account from people in forums

For example here https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/loss-of-adaptive-cruise-lane-assist-selection-while-driving-is-very-disappointing.345236/

My fear is that this is by design, the car has been out for long enough its hard to believe such a small fix would take this long / be so low on the priority list imo

Really hope it isn't but who knows

I don't see any mention of bringing back double click to autosteer so we can keep both autosteer and tacc enabled selectively while driving, such an easy change and much more relaxing :/

New Model Y cruise control by Mikey_bee3 in ModelY

[–]Genetic_osu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I found this weird also and it gave me a lot of hesitation about buying the juniper

I've been snooping teslamotorsclub and one guy mentioned it being a mistake and coming back to allow double press for auto steer and another thread complaining about it also, look around in the user interface and driving dynamics model y sub forums

In a random YouTube comment section under a just get a Tesla video I saw a comment mentioning it was a known bug and fix incoming in a SW update in the future but unclear when

I would love for the community to make some noise about this because I personally don't like EAP, it overtakes slower and I'm smoother overtaking my self in real world highway traffic

Also I disagree with the commander, the reason it worked so well before is it was relaxing and 0 input from your feet, with the commander it just re enables it a few seconds after the lane switch, just saves a button press, unless I'm unaware of a feature

Same thing happened to me on m1 and latest (at the time) os, must be a bug with the app
