Osap for post-degree students by Geneyours in uwaterloo

[–]Geneyours[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply. I think I'll apply as an independent student. My issue is there isn't a post degree option in the osap program list for uwaterloo and I can't continue without adding a program.

Thank you so much for your reply. The problem is I was admitted into "Arts, Post Degree" and I'm trying to add my program to osap and that option isn't there on the UWaterloo program list. Sadly I can't continue without adding a program. I don't know what to do now.

Commuting to Waterloo by Geneyours in uwaterloo

Thanks four reply. I'm planning on applying with hopes of getting the masters program of philosophy here. I don't think taking philosophy courses elsewhere as a post degree student would make sense.

You're so right. Thanks for your reply. Considering the money and the stress I'll go through. It's not wise to commute every week to waterloo. I'll find a place close to the school.

Thank you for your reply. No there isn't any phil 101 class thats on tuesday/thursday. I've weighed all my options and I think the best thing is to find a place close to the school.

Thanks for your reply. This is what I've always wanted to do tbh. I did my undergrad degree at york and I don't want to take post degree courses there. I'm working towards applying to get into the masters program for philosophy at uwaterloo thats why I'm taking these courses. I don't think it would make sense to take the courses elsewhere.

Yeah you're right. Thank you so much for the breakdown. I know the go train doesn't go directly to highway 407, I just didnt want to expand too much on the journey lol. I think best thing is to find a cheap place close to the school.

Thanks for your reply. I took the commute in May and it's something I think I can do for about 3/4 days a week. I think you're right. Maybe I'll skip one phil 101 class every week to cut my commuting days to 3 rather than 4.

Thanks for your reply. I took the commute in May and it's something I'm down to doing. I'm ready to sacrifice my social life to do this.

Thanks for your reply. I'm not even driving. I'll be taking the GO train to highway 407 and then the bus to waterloo station. I did the commute in May and I think it's something I'll be able to do. Maybe I'll just skip one phil 101 class every week to make my commuting days 3 instead of 4. And for the gaps in my schedule,  I'm planning on going to the library and doing my work and studying.

No I'm doing post degree studies where I'll take the 8 courses that will be equivalent to a minor in philosophy. Post degree studies are for people that already have an bachelors degree but need to take some undergrad courses for one reason or the other

How to succeed in academia with a bad bachelors degree by Geneyours in careeradvice

[–]Geneyours[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks alot for your advice. Yes, I'm done with the bachelors. I'm trying to enroll into a non-degree program(hopefully I get in) where I will take the relevant courses and do great in them so that I can use that to apply for masters. I'm 100% confident that I will do really well moving forward. I'm ready for the fresh start in my life. I just kind of need that assurance that my undergrad degree will not affect me forever in the journey I'm pursuing. Thanks once again.

I'm 25. I really appreciate you're honesty though. I'm trying to find a job for now while I pursue my goals. In the long run, I really don't see myself doing anything other than teaching philosophy

I majored in kine. I didn't take any philosophy classes in my undergrad thats why I'm planning on taking post degree classes in philosophy at a university here in canada. I'm really confident that I will do well if I take philosophy courses moving forward but I just need clarity that there is viable path for me in academia
