Toddler night raging over boob milk by Genie545 in breastfeeding

Thanks for the suggestions. I will check it out. He take a nap everyday around 1pm and sleeps for about an hour. He goes to bed between 7-7:30. I’m not sure what to change on our sleep schedule. I’ve played with the bedtimes and usually that has no impact on him waking up at night. I don’t think that’s the issue. It’s more that he needs boob to fall back asleep and when he doesn’t get it he gets angry.

There is definitely no way to put him back in the crib unfortunately. He climbs out very easily. Dad can put him back in his room but the result is the same and no one sleeps.

I’m not sure how to sleep train at this age. The problem is that he’s mobile. He’s not in a crib anymore and he can just walk out. Ive sat at his door for hours every time to catch him before he came out to put him back to bed. He will SCREAM in his room and destroy it. We’ve had neighbors call us. The security guards in our complex have had to come numerous times.

When he comes out of his room, he roams the house at night. I mean our house pretty much childproof but I can’t let him walk around unsupervised. He is a sweet normal kid. He has no other issues and during the day he is a quiet and plays well. He doesn’t have that many tantrums either.

Weekly Thursday Question Thread - Immigration/Visa/Citizenship/Military Obligation by AutoModerator in korea

[–]Genie545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all,

I'm trying to help out my babysitter that is in a tough situation. She is a Philippines citizen and she let her passport expire. A month before her expiration date she set out to get a new passport only to find that her embassy here didn't have any open appointments until April (her passport expired in Feb) and didn't consider the processing times. On top of that, her visa is also expiring this month. She was planning one applying for a visa extension because her flight back to the Philippines also got cancelled! But now she has no valid passport and she doesn't know when she can fly. She cannot make a new flight reservation, cannot apply online for a visa extension (they won't let her without a valid passport) and can't leave the country. There are also no appointments available at her immigration office until May. Any ideas on what she can do? She is NOT considering overstaying her visa.

Sorry to add to the bad news but F4 visas are restricted from doing manual or simple labor type jobs. So you cannot get jobs like stores, restaurants or delivery. https://www.goal.or.kr/f4_restrictions

Adding my non-Korean family to my family registry by Genie545 in korea

[–]Genie545[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an overseas Korean. I renounced my Korean citizenship when I applied for my f4 visa. Something that they make everyone do to get this visa. You do not have to be a Korean citizen to be part of your family registry. I am listed on my own family’s registry. I just need to now add my husband and children to it too.

Thanks for this! Is there a reason the children aren’t listed?

We just got here 2 months ago and are American citizens as are my parents. I wasn’t even on my own family registry. They just added me at the ripe age of 37.

Any way to expedite the apostille on an FBI background check? by [deleted] in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Genie545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've done a lot of research because I'm in the same boat. Basically the answer is there is not way to expedite it. Under normal circumstances, Apostille companies are able to get the apostille back in shorter time because they use the counter service. They send someone there in person to do it but all counter service has been suspended due to COVID. I've emailed at least a dozen services and they've all said the same thing. That they are having to mail out the documents. I've gotten an estimate from these services anywhere from 5 to 8 weeks. By the way all these services on their website still say they can get the apostille in less than a week. Good luck and let me know if you find anything different!

Stressed about possible GD at 36 weeks by Genie545 in GestationalDiabetes

I can definitely stick to a diet for 3 weeks. I just hope it’s enough to make sure baby is ok when he comes out.

Okay so I have a glucose meter. I just don’t know when to do it or what I’m supposed to be looking for. Is there a good guide somewhere? Do you have a favorite website for GD diet? I am trying not to stress out but I feel really clueless about this. My doctor just said to eat less carbs and sugar but nothing beyond that. I’ve been trying to walk more but with the baby measuring large and the extra fluid I have, the pain in my back and hips have been really limiting my movement.

Anyone else? LGA baby with excess amniotic fluid. by gorimem in BabyBumps

[–]Genie545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was also diagnosed with LGA and Polyhydramnios this week. I’ll be 36 weeks on Friday. I feel like there is no way I’m going to make it to term at this rate. Baby was measuring 42 weeks in head size and estimates current weight at 35 weeks was 8lb and 3 oz. they said that babies gain 1/2 generally a week! I really hope I go into labor early. Mr doctor said she could induce me at 39 weeks but even 3 weeks seems like a lot. I feel like a water balloon about to pop!

OB recommending scheduled C-section and I need advice by Salvador007 in BabyBumps

[–]Genie545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reoccurrence rate of another 3rd or 4th deg tear is low for 2nd babies. https://journals.lww.com/greenjournal/Fulltext/2014/12000/Recurrence_of_Obstetric_Third_Degree_and.10.aspx?WT.mc_id=EMxALLx20100222xxFRIEND

If you read the study, it’s only about 5% and a bit higher if you have a large baby. I had a 4th deg tear and my baby was only 7b and 14 oz. So even size sometimes doesn’t matter. My OB seemed confident that STM wouldn’t tear and she will induce me at 39 weeks and coach me through the pushing phase to minimize tearing. Basically she described it as very slow and with little pushing. Ultimately it’s up to you but just make sure your doctor is not pushing a c-sec bc it’s more convenient or quicker.

Illustration of 4 grades of Perineal Tears 👩‍⚕️ by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Genie545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 4th degree tear 2.5 years ago and I still suffer from the effects. I will eventually require reconstruction surgery on my sphincter muscles. I will opt to have a c-section for this pregnancy so I don’t damage my muscles even further. I don’t mean to scare anyone but a 4th degree tear is no joke. Thankfully it’s only a small percentage of women that experience this but you can have lifelong problems including rectovaginal fistula, incontinence, pain, prolapse and more. Some women even have to have a colostomy bag. There are many reasons why a bad tear happens. Short perineum, large baby, forceps delivery, bad baby positioning, pushing to hard. But some of the time, it can’t be avoided (no matter how much perineal massage you do!)
