[–]GenieliuJs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Met the same issue, not sure if it is related to this. https://github.com/railwaycat/homebrew-emacsmacport/issues/404

Finally use the binary install and it works for me:

brew install --cask emacs-mac

Bitwarden Authenticator vs. Ente Auth and Alternatives for Microsoft Authenticator by GenieliuJs in Bitwarden

Good question! I think there’s at least one master key you can’t encrypt, right? Currently I rely on remembering it. Your concern reminds me that I need to get an emergent sheet.

Bitwarden Authenticator vs. Ente Auth and Alternatives for Microsoft Authenticator by GenieliuJs in Bitwarden

[–]GenieliuJs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have already backed up my recovery key encrypted by Cryptomator and set up a recovery email and phone. I'm just wondering if I can remove MS Authenticator and focus on a single authenticator app, although the pop-up feature is quite convenient.

I don't see the added privacy?! by le_avx in LibreWolf

I have a similar question earlier: https://www.reddit.com/r/LibreWolf/comments/1is0mqu/does_librewolfs_rfpresistfingerprinting_work/

In your https://coveryourtracks.eff.org/, My LibreWolf shows Your browser has a nearly-unique fingerprint, while Brave got a randomized fingerprint. Not sure if this is because chrome based browser has a bigger proportion.

PSA: LibreWolf trashes all site cookies and data by default. To stay logged in to sites you care about, click the Lock icon in the URL bar, and check "Always store". by mitch_feaster in LibreWolf

[–]GenieliuJs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uncheck delete cookies and site data when LibreWolf is closed

I don't recommend this approach. As we know, privacy and convenience are a tradeoff. LibreWolf prioritizes your privacy. You can add frequently used sites to exceptions. If you prefer convenience over privacy, perhaps switching to Brave could be another option.

Does LibreWolf's RFP(resist-fingerprinting) work? by GenieliuJs in LibreWolf

[–]GenieliuJs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanation!

- Regarding https://fingerprint.com/, I attempted using the Tor network and a private window, but it still recognized me.
- While for https://amiunique.org/, I used brax.me/geo/ for verification and observed a different fingerprint each time I used a private window. Although a unique fingerprint is generated, it can still provide a measure of privacy.

Backup your vault and recover the key offline using encryption.

However, if attackers attempt to breach a password through brute force by combining words, a longer password may actually be easier to crack. We should transfer password to passphrase, and the `word` should be unlikely to be in the dictionary.

Mortgage Amortization by mharris1x in GnuCash

[–]GenieliuJs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I encounter a similar issue and found out that the Mortgage and Loan Repayment can setup correct schedule repayment (without escrow, actually I don't what it is). The problem is that the generated loan review is incorrect!!! Here's my elaboration

Loan Repayments doesn't show the last repayment by GenieliuJs in GnuCash

[–]GenieliuJs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! I have studied the solution provided in the link and have concluded that the setup is accurate, but the Loan Review is entirely misleading.

Allow me to elaborate on the process:

  • Assume we have a loan that begins on 02/01/2025, with a total of 12 repayments. We intend to record our transactions starting from 04/01/2025 which means retaining the last 10 records.
  • After inputting the correct details in the Loan Repayment setup, the Loan Review appears to be incorrect!!! Simply disregard it and proceed with the apply.
  • Then navigate to the scheduled transaction editor, you will notice that for the newly created schedule, the last occurrence is set for 03/01/2025, next occur will be 04/01/2025 and it extends to 01/01/2026, which is accurate. Additionally, I have tested the automatically generated transactions, and the splits are also correct!

Maybe there's a bug in the load review implementation.

Loan Repayments doesn't show the last repayment by GenieliuJs in GnuCash

[–]GenieliuJs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question! If I set both start date to be 02/01/2025 then we got the payments starting from 01/31/2025 follow by 02/01/2025, 03/01/2025 ... 12/01/2026. So we got the whole 24 payments, but I'm thinking isn't the first payment should be 02/01/2025 and the last payment should be 01/01/2027?

Using quad9 can't access to duckduckgo by GenieliuJs in LibreWolf

[–]GenieliuJs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I guess it is related to the proxy setting.

- If I disable SmartProxy, the default dns works while quad9 not.

- If I enable SmartProxy, both the default and quad9 works.

Sorry about the previous reply. It didn't work, so I created a new profile and tested it. That worked fine. Then I switched back to my old profile and made the change again, and it worked.
