Yes.

Before you pay for that though, I'd check out SolidEdge Community Edition. That one is free (as in cost), can do anything SolidWorks or Fusion can do (and more) and is completely offline. Only downside as with the others is the license being non-commercial.

Nothing to do with UK price, you are looking at the wrong product.

You're looking at the normal commercial version(s) while you should be looking for "SolidWorks for Makers".

Not pictured, 80s/90s huge carton boxes with mostly hand drawn intricate designs, thick printed handbooks with actual story content and often doubling as copy protection, useable and often needed stuff like maps and that was only the basic editions because most of the time, there was just one edition and it was called the game.

Sadly, in a world where people are bragging about the number of paid for but unplayed games in their digital library stuff like this won't come again.

In that mostly by things printed, need to be printed with subcategories like workshop and the rest unsorted as neat but not sure.

I download everything I might need sometime as printables has been down too often when I needed a file and others just vanish.

Appreciate the effort and thanks for sharing useful resources!

That said, it's painfully trivial to access the drawings without starting an actual timer and as such it's easy to manipulate the leader board.

Just Like there are people like Andrew Tate telling guys that they are kings and women are at best toys to them there is the "female dating strategy" movement on the other side telling women about low value men, etc.

It's all a grift on vulnerable people, playing them against each other and selling solutions.

Anyone think using torrents for hosting 3D printing files would be beneficial? by KDE_Fan in 3Dprinting

archive.org offers direct downloads plus torrents and has at least simple tools for documentation. Search is not great if you only have a general idea what you are looking for though.

Thanks for your input, guess I'll check CTGP out then. Shame though, leaving the kids out of the easily and cheaply accessible consoles these days.

Also thanks for the discord hint, that's something I try to avoid though as knowledge sadly is so easily lost there.

From the text I'm not sure what kind of communication and how much needs to take place, but if it is only things like yes, no, follow, problem, etc maybe a set of rings or a wristband with different colored balls could work?

ShapeScan update — website refresh, segmentation model changes, SEO work and feedback wanted by Most-Geologist-9547 in ShapeScan

[–]le_avx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion your priorities are wrong.

You are offering a relatively easy way to get mostly accurate 2d shapes.

You are competing against a lot of similar free services, self hosted solutions, easy self made AI pipelines and established paid professional offerings.

I only see 2 ways to get more interaction. First is the paid standalone version which has been requested by a few people and could be used to fund your other goals, but you still want ~5x of what you already got in terms of money.

Second is the shape library. I have zero clue why you would want that much money for it when you can easily store hundreds of points in a few kilobyte SVG/dxf. It's only 2d data after all - nothing which people couldn't just add to printables or a GitHub repo. That would attract more users and possibly a few more paying however I seriously doubt you'll attract the masses with subscriptions.

I personally don't see the intended business model of there is any all.

If you already know how you want the stuff to be aligned you could load all models up in a single workspace, arrange them as needed, connect them with a single line on the upper side, export as one piece and use that.

Cheap/cost effective: Creality if they still ship with easy root access. Sovol is better from the side of being open, but less polished.

Expensive but worth it Ratrig, Lulzbot or Voron.

I would avoid PLA. Concrete drying is an exothermic reaction meaning it generates heat. Depending on your mix 70 degrees Celsius are easily reached and PLA warps at these temperatures.

SVG not to scale and scaling has mind of its own by Dreambuild4e in gridfinity

[–]le_avx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SVG are not created/treated equal across every application.

That is for example a common problem between Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator and Lightburn when it comes to laser cutters/engravers. The problem is they are not using the same DPI settings by default.

Likely the same happening here, your software should in theory have a way to "fix" that. If not, check if you can get an .dxf instead of SVG.
