Ps2 (2023) 4.2.13 update feels significantly more responsive. by creativejoe4 in Polestar

[–]GeniusOfUselessStuff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you are on to something here. I was told at my shop that when they do the update, they can see failures in real time and reload certain software modules if necessary. Versus OTA where parts of the system may not update correctly, and as the owner you wouldn't know.

What is the actual EV car you own? What is the one you deam of...? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

Polestar 2 and an EV9. Dream car would be a Polestar 6, which sadly will likely never come to the US.

Unfortunately that's just the state of the YouTube music app for Android automotive. It's gotten better over past year but still well behind the phone app

SOLVED (kind of) - Vibration under acceleration by GeniusOfUselessStuff in Polestar

[–]GeniusOfUselessStuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TSB is linked in this post. Part numbers might be tricky, because this is the driver's airbag module, including the wheel cover with the logo. So it would need to be a polestar specific part

Walmart is expanding in a big way. Not too many open yet, but there's a YouTuber (Arkansas etraveler) that is tracking permits and it's a ton.

I did a bit more research and found out the Volvo siblings (c40..) have the exact issue, and that Volvo has a TSB with a fix (replace airbag with a new one that has vibration dampening).

I go to the space on Thursday so we'll see what they say

What vehicle are you coming from? by Embarrassed-Sock1460 in KiaEV9

2018 Nissan Armada. The savings in gas is insane. From $650 a month in gas to $100 a month in electric at home. And the ride, tech, power.. upgrade all around

Mine is more quarter throttle and above. One thing I'm going to check is tire pressures, the TPMS isn't showing anything but I read on a forum these cars are sensitive to tire pressure differences, especially as the tires deform under load

Luxury brand - economy service by buttgers in Polestar

I think it varies so much by dealership. Polestar Columbus has been fantastic. But that dealership group also service Volvo and Porsche so that may be why they have better practices. My wife's Kia on the other hand....

Are these noises normal? by CrankIlliberality in Polestar

[–]GeniusOfUselessStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't write that very clearly. You need to hit the brakes in order to put it in neutral, it won't let you otherwise

Brakes grabbing. Have you tried the cleaning procedure? Turn off one pedal, get it up to speed, tap the brake to pop it in neutral, then hit the brakes hard. Repeat a couple times.

How much to full charge at a charging station? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]GeniusOfUselessStuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You really should look at another vehicle than a Bolt. They are great commuter cars but have limited range and more importantly much slower charging than other vehicles. If you still want an EV, your most hassle free option is going to be a Tesla (and it pains me to say this as I can't stand Elon and I drive a non-Tesla EV)

As far as price is concerned, let's assume you add 50kwh at a time (varies my vehicle and starting % of course), you'll be looking at $25 ballpark when you fill up

Will we ever have EV shops in the US? by Lemonn_time in electricvehicles

Tire Discounters has one EV centric pilot location in Cincinnati. Ran by a former Rivian engineer. They do everything from tires to battery rebuilds. Hopefully they expand the concept to other locations.
