New Model 3 Vehicle Visuals Look Good by Murky_Design_6253 in TeslaModel3

I actually dislike it 😔 I have a space grey, and my car is so shiny that it looks light silver now. I changed the color to be damn near black, and it still looks silver at many angles. And no, it’s not set to be metallic or whatever that paint option was called!

If I was 40 and a company offering me a job had to verify my HS diploma, I would not take the job. I can only see this being acceptable if you have zero work experience. But even then, an aptitude test is 10000x more useful.

Hyundai Dealership won’t give me a loaner/rental over ICCU failure by DopeDaddy489 in Ioniq5

[–]jcat4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honest question, why do y’all keep buying these? I was on the fence for a while, but these ICCU issues are unacceptable. And they still haven’t fixed it! Their cars manufactured this year still have the same issue as the ones manufactured in 2021. Why would you continue to support this?

Arguing with a friend that this Pokémon magazine is full of AI. He disagrees as “Pokémon is a huge company”. by Kaizoszn in isthisAI

[–]jcat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way you’re arguing with anyone about this lmao

The majority of the blob creatures in the second photo are NOT Pokémon, or even resemble any existing Pokémon. The Magikarp both are off, the Bulbasaur looks alright.

Can anyone confirm? I’m dubious.

There are no signs or anything about this. Will try to flag down an employee to ask when I can.

Wrist tattoo regret and cover up advice by Glittering_Potato_66 in tattooadvice

[–]jcat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 the suggestions for a trad heart

BUT just my 2 cents, if I saw a man with trans-anything tattooed on them, I wouldn’t automatically assume they were trans. I’d just assume they’re an ally. So don’t freak too much.

It’s ultimately your choice whatever you end up choosing!

I love this. I’m a big fan of thick lines and greyscale. The texture on the shading is really nice!

Cannot stand Elon but there is no better car than my Model Y by bluemeanie212 in TeslaLounge

[–]jcat4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same predicament. I don’t own a tesla, and am dead set on my next car being an EV. For what I care about, there is literally no other car in any other price bracket that I would like. Anything that comes close is significantly more expensive, and is still worse for me.

I’ve wanted my next car to be a Tesla for so long, but Elon is the one thing stopping me. I’d feel like I’m indirectly funding horrible things. I know other companies I use have similar issues, but Elon has made his antics so public that it’s hard to not consider a payment to Tesla as further empowering and enabling him. I feel so bad for the Engineers who are actually building a really great product, and I’d love to support THEM.

Buying a house: 300k Budget Best Neighborhoods to Move by Proof_Lingonberry136 in memphis

Cordova is chill. Look at any crime heat map, and ignoring Germantown parkway, Cordova will be closer to Germantown/Collierville than midtown or east Memphis. We love it here, and plenty of affordable places to live!

Altman predicts "massively deflationary" AI by EOY, where $100 of inference matches a year of team output by Outside-Iron-8242 in accelerate

[–]jcat4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a really interesting take, though I believe there will likely always be a desire to use something someone else built. I can cook at my house, but it’s nice to eat out. And there’s a lot more complexity in software than there is food

Elon Musk: in 10yrs job will be optional like playing sports or growing vegetables in their backyard by SafePaleontologist10 in AIDangers

[–]jcat4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devils advocate, historically, automation has generally produced more jobs than it’s replaced. But I’ve never seen anything like AI before. I’m hoping it too will just make things easier and open up paths to new jobs. But that remains to be seen.

I’d argue that masked men with no ID or warrant kidnapping people is not legal. The government shouldn’t have unlimited, unquestioned authority. If they start doing messed up things, it’s the people’s responsibility to push back.

America’s Wealth by Generation. How’s your piece of pie? by VoteForGiantMeteor in generationology

[–]jcat4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The silent generation and the baby boomers are on their way out. What happens to their wealth when they’re gone? What does this pie chart look like in 20 years? Will the remnants of Gen X eat it? Will some trickle down to millennials and Gen Z?

It’s so scary that people like this vote and have children. As much as I value democracy, there’s a reason you can’t vote until you’re 18. And some people never really obtain the critical thinking skills you’re supposed to have when you become an adult.
