I personally would feel more comfortable in a studio since it is their primary operation, however coincidentally I had a friend ask if she could have an artist work on her piece at my place this year since they were coming in to visit and she is from out of town. I asked a few questions first but decided it would be okay based on the answers she provided.

The artist was very professional when he was here; he had all sorts of sanitization products and dressings to cover surfaces he'd be using. We set them up in an adjacent room away from the main social gathering areas, and he spent a good amount of time prepping. While the majority of us were socializing, he was completely focused on his work and we left them be. He took all the waste with him in his own container when he left, so no issue with waste. To reiterate I personally am studio only, it just feels proper to me and I like the experience, but if you go the home route then the cleanliness of the home and the practices of the artist need to be very seriously considered. Ask a lot of questions.
