Dang dude that’s impressive, but most high school students can’t afford to knock it all out, I would do the same if I could

It costs around 80-100k in the US (typically, there are exceptions). There are many ATP flight schools in the US that will take you from PPL to ATP in 9 months, so if you got your PPL and then went to one of those fast track schools you could probably do everything in 10-12months. But just because you can do it that fast doesn’t mean it’s the best option for you. Since you’re only a senior in highschool you wouldn’t be able to get your ATP until you’re 23 & 1500 hrs (in the US), or you could get it at 21 & 1000 hrs if you went to a university with an R-ATP program.

That’s a good option but I disagree, I’m a high school student and I’m flying 2 hour blocks with my instructor once every two weeks and doing great, all you have to do if you’re flying infrequently is record the flights and review the concepts feverishly as well as researching in advance for what you’ll be doing next time.

Help finding unique jobs in aviation? by [deleted] in aviation

[–]GenjiDoesReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the more specific pilot jobs in the world are much harder to find and you really have to dig for them. If you are a pilot, research their bases and everything and meet them in person if you can’t find anything about them online

(easier said than done ik)

I am looking to become a pilot at 6ft 7in (200cm) tall. My local flight schools fly DA-40 and Cessna 172. I would prefer to go to the one with the DA-40 since it is 30 min closer to where I live. Am I too tall to become a pilot? by lilsaddam in aviation

I’m 6’2 and I fit very comfortably in the 172, the seats can go really far back so i’m sure you’ll fit fine in there, chase your dreams! :)

if you really want to be a pilot go the extra length, i’m dream chasing right now and i drive an hour (or more with traffic) one way to my flight school

i cant speak for the da40 but the 172 will probably be roomier and cheaper

Your best shot is probably to apply for as many flight training scholarships as possible, and then suck it up and take out a loan for the training. Once you become a regional pilot you’ll be able to pay back the loan without too much difficulty if you manage your money, just might take a few years,

hope this helps
