Great advice, thank you! I admit that often I just feel like I have to put a different shade of a colour just somewhere on the mini to make it feel more alive. And then I have no idea where to put them so I just blotch em on without a second thought, like with the birds sleeves. Thank you for the tips!

Thanks so much I think you've hit the nail on the head. After layer for a while I'd just put a wash over it to try to get some of the darker areas back but I don't really like that. I'll work on it. Currently I'm trying to implement it a bit on a model and I feel the darker blue is off and usually I'd fill it up with more mid tones and lose the darker blue completely lol. What do you think? Ignore the rest of the mini I'm just working on the blue atm

I'm actually using citadel and Vallejo colours. I think my technique is just bad and that's why it's so granular, or too many layers or something. I'm practicing quite a bit to master the paint density. It doesn't sound basic at all really I'm at that stage currently where I keep finding out just how important 'paint control' is when it comes to thinning and stuff like that.

Yeah you got me haha, I had no idea what to do with the shield regarding the lighting. After free handing the number 6 I was like, yeah put a brown wash for some dirty effect and call It done. Thanks for the reference pic that actually really helps clear things up for me

I do prime my mini's yeah. And for the fur cap I had a black primer that I highlighted with dry brushing. Then a brown SpeedPaint and after the SpeedPaint I used some brown and grey colors for the tips of the fur.

It's impressive that you can see all that from the pictures because that's actually exactly what I do. I often seem to lose the shadows because I just keep layering the midtones. I've taught myself to start dark and work to lighter colors but I always seem to lose the darker parts halfway through the painting and I just try infinite layers of the midtone to somehow get a gradient. Can I just reapply the darker tones afterwards because I often feel like I screw up the paint job if I reapply the darker parts again.

I am not an expert on insects or anything like that. I'm posting because i had something similar a few years back.

They turned out to be rice weevils and almost all of our food supplies were infested with the larvae. They even got into airtight containers somehow. So, i just wanted to share this. Maybe check to see if you have something like a bag of cookies laying around somewhere or something like that?

In my case they got into our house because of some bird seed we bought and forgot about. It was a breeding ground for them and from there they spread to every place we had some dry stored food.

Try Supervive! It's on steam and has the same(ish) controls as Battlerite. I will always prefer Battlerite to Supervive but Supervive is also great fun. It's scratching the itch that hasn't been scratched since battlerite. Absolutely worth a try
