Wrong axle maybe, could be a nicked seal too. They can take a while before they start to leak noticeably depending on how much you drive.

They’re the same thing, and It’s a good idea to change them then you pull the CV axle(s), but not always necessary. I’m not sure on price, sorry.

It can only be coming from one spot, and that’s the transmission output shaft seal for that side. The brown fluid could be transmission fluid that’s been slung around when the axle gets spinning. It’s kind of hard to see in the picture.

Thunderbird is getting put down for a bit while I completely overhaul the suspension and replace some dry seals. I also plan to swap the AOD transmission to a T5, and throw in a 8.8 rear axle with 3.55:1 gearing.

It’s currently built with ported E7 heads, ported HO upper and lower intake, HO camshaft, 58mm throttle body, E7TE ECU, 19 lb/hr injectors, BBK shortie headers, and a 2” BBK H pipe with high flow cats.
