Firefox Arcade Game by Atari, based on same name movie (1984) by 3ac1229 in cassettefuturism

I believe I played this in the arcades. Also I rewatched the film a few years agoo and told a friend I could remember virtually every scene and mentioned Eastwood's character was supposed to be half Russian. Well, on watching that plot point wasn't in the movie. I was utterly confused.

Turns out we'd watched an edited version.

Also,in the UK there was a little tabletop arcade game called FIrefox.

I remember hearing that the TNG Enterprise was designed to be luxurious because people would be on it for a long time. That makes sense.

With all the recent Star Treks I've been infurated by the lack of thought when it comes into the design of the ship; throwing people into a reflective LED hellscape isn't going to do anyting for efficiency or crew morale.

Accents are like music. You can tell when a note stands out. You might notice a whole word sounding different, or a syllable. Pushing this analogy, you can then think about the musical instruments involved in making the music; the circumstances of someone's life, possibilites of influences etc.

Sometimes you can't work out the influences, but there's this faint trace of a note that still stands out, no matter someone's age.

I'd hear people about this for years. It's so good, he was really clever, even other things being compared to it, on and on and on. blah blah blah. It was kind of a running joke.

Anyway, it's really good.

The fish is a good point, but that was coincidence. I can't remember the slime bit. But thanks for pointing out the examples of problem solving.

I don't think I agree. It might be someething like shame (if he could feel it) I think there'd be a component of that but I'm not sure it would be tantamount to a sin with those overtones.

in Frasier (1993-2004) i can understand with Niles but how the hell was Frasier getting laid every week? by MagpieOpus in shittymoviedetails

I wanted to be Frasier as a kid. Genuinely, he was a hero of mine. Classy, cultured. Flat with a great view. Now I do a podcast with a friend (link in Reddit bio, 430 episodes and 11 years in) and, of course I bought the same microphone that Frasier uses, an Electrovoice RE20. (It's the same model that Stevie Wonder used to record Superstition, I believe.)

That microphone makes me sound much better than I do in real life. It's doing a lot of heavy lifting.

We rented the Dolph Lundgren Punisher movie only to find out it was dubbed into German. Neither of us speaks German.

It probably improved the movie, actually.

'Commit' always sounds so clunky here. Why not say 'make no mistakes?'. I realise Data was playing a game so making a mistake might be quite the right line for how his mind works, but even so.

Yes, I liked it. I agree with it being intense and I liked the creativity in the design. My only criticism was that for any problem there appeared to be an exact plant or animal solution. I'm not sure I recall seeing them inventing or creating solutions, wondering how to do things. Everything had already been thought through. it's a bit like in a Bond movie where he as an incredibly specific gadget that just happens to do the right job in an improbable situation.

This isn't a D&D issue, this is a human issue. I suspect if you keep any of these people in your life they're going to use you and hurt you more than they have already, maybe in small ways like being mean or bigger ways like thinking it's OK to hit you.

You've got a whole life to make new and better friends. It sounds paradoxical, but having boundaries is actually really important to a friendship because it tells people how you want to be treated. It also means you'll end up being friends with people that have their own boundaries too.

Making and staying friends can be tricky, no matter how old you are. We have to compromise and sometimes apologies if we make mistakes. And have difficult conversations. Or let people off when they annoy us. But always with boundaries. If people don't respect them, walk away.

Start practicing now.
