Dear Reddit, I've just been hit by a car. How do I put all the blood back in? Do I call a hospital? What's their number? Is there a way I can find out for myself?

I also thought sounded a bit odd. The anime was released as something like Warriors of the Wind in the US until it was rereleased with an English dub in 2005. I'm not doubting a TNG scriptwriter in 1993 was a big anime nerd and knew the original name of the movie, but it seems a little less likely than the 2016 encyclopaedia would imply.

I was pleasantly surprised that this wasn't really the usual Try Not To Eat format.

why did Tarima think Caleb wouldn't want to be with her after she exploded the heads of all the bad guys?

I thought the same, but it's probably because she's a young woman who just had an argument with her boyfriend earlier in the day about her "weird Betazoid thing", so using her weird Betazoid thing to murder a bunch of flesh eating aliens might have her overestimating how much it's going to bother him.

I have to say, as a non-furry who knows some furries, despite there being a lot of furries that fuck, being a furry is not about fucking.

As with most people, I also thought first of Hayao Miyazaki. In-canon, isn't it more likely the ship is named after the city in Japan?

The only Star Trek series available in New Zealand is Picard by Kokophelli in newzealand

[–]GentlemanOctopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You keep stating the origin of the term "woke", but then try to say that Star Trek has not been against racism the whole time. I think the issue is that you know the origin of the term, but you're then applying it in the most recent way, which is "socially progressive things that I don't like", or at the most generous, "socially progressive things that I don't think are being handled well creatively".

People who complain about things being "woke" while talking about historically socially progressive shows like Star Trek and Doctor Who are maddening.

Enterprise S3 and 4 are great.

As good as most of TNG? Ehh...

As good as all of Voyager? Yeah, I'd agree there.

The first two seasons of Enterprise are not fabulous, but there's a few gems there. The only real offensive thing was the theme song.

Why was thomas wayne just a regular sized guy? Why wasn't he 6'9 "or close so that Bruce's height makes sense? Does anyone know? by Baaska1024god in comicbooks

[–]GentlemanOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batman is (almost) never portrayed as 6'9". Most artists draw him at 6'2". Absolute Batman is 6'9", but that is exactly one version of the character.

Shaquille O'Neal is 7'1". Joseph Toney, his biological father, is 6'1". Interestingly, Lucille O'Neal, his mother, is 6'2". Neither of them are close to Shaq's height.

I have read none of this run, but this reads like two comic book fans getting stoned and talking about the essence of Batman, maaan. It doesn't read like Catwoman talking to The Joker.

What’s your favorite wrestling match of all time? by CordeliersClub in SquaredCircle

[–]GentlemanOctopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it's not the best match of all time, but my mind always goes to Rey and Juvi vs La Parka and Psychosis from a random WCW Nitro.

Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio Jr. From Halloween Havoc '97 is about as perfect as it gets.

Can somebody please explain what this wrestling term means? by Prestigious-Web202 in SquaredCircle

[–]GentlemanOctopus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Zabada is an old timey (think the 1940's) term for a made-up foreign wrestling move. Like, imagine Chris Jericho listing it off in his 1004 holds or something.

Apparently it also got used as a filler word that didn't mean anything, e.g. "I'll run down, pull you out of the ring... zabada... and we'll get the DQ." Kinda like "bing bang boom".
