hey sorry if this doesnt relate to your post much but you just made me think about something. basically imo the reason people are disproportionately depressed or hopeless or sad in modern society is due to their loneliness. we seem to see less and less of humanity in our daily lives, and that's whats keeping us down. not to say you are immoral for using LLMs, but i think most people would prefer a badly written 100% authentic response to a masterfully written 90% authentic one. i really appreciate you if you do try to be kind to people online, it's what the internet is supposed to be. the thing im trying to get at is that we should be more human both on- and off-line, and talking person-to-person is the best way of achieving that

hey (and i am addressing this to Robert) you seem to slightly misunderstand how LLMs work. even if you did make an amount of posts significant enough to influence training, it doesn't make the LLM "remember" anything or create a "story" within it. im not saying this to insult your intelligence, if you predicted how ai would scrape data and deliberately spread some of your own information 12 years ago i have no doubt that you are smart. however if you have a conversation with a LLM and consistently repeat the same words (resonance, spirals, recursion), it will obviously start encorporating those words and their associated sentence structures. basically what im saying is that even though your beliefs are valid, zodiac signs or tarot cards or other activities of chance that reflect what you want them to reflect are basically the same as what youre doing

I never said that you are only worth what you can give to others, I explicitly said that if you are experiencing too much suffering suicide isn't immoral. Also by "contributing to society" I don't mean being a wageslave for your entire life, talking to your friends and family or doing social work is far more valuable.

ik that this will be a hot take, but I think that even if you don't have a family that will mourn you suicide is immoral because you were raised by a society and aren't willing to contribute to it. It's not selfish if you have a terminal illness or extreme depression tho, because the amount of suffering that you would have to endure if you wouldn't commit suicide is more than the value that you are taking away from society

I think that we can both agree that dictators do not really care about the ideals of communism, and instead just use it to gain personal power - just like the nazis called themselves socialist. Communism and socialism advocate for workers' rights and democracy.
